The Hope Fieldhouse family is heartbroken by the passing of Anthony Nguyen.

Anthony was so much more than a pickleball trainer at Hope Fieldhouse. He was a friend, a mentor, and one of the kindest people to ever walk through our doors. He taught lessons to countless members, but what made Anthony special was not just his expertise in pickleball. He constantly brought people together through his encouragement, his generosity, and the delicious food he loved sharing with everyone.

Anthony was asked by many other organizations to teach and coach for them, but he stayed loyal to Hope Fieldhouse because he believed in this community and cared deeply about the people here. He never did it for the money. He did it because he loved serving others.

Even while battling cancer, Anthony continued to make an impact on everyone around him.

We are devastated by this loss and will miss him beyond words. Our prayers are with Anthony’s family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.

Thank you, Anthony, for everything you gave to this community. Hope Fieldhouse is better because of you, and your impact here will never be forgotten.

From ending the MLB season on Labor Day to shortening the NBA playoffs and giving NFL teams two bye weeks, this piece breaks down why “less is more” could actually make sports better.

What do you think?

Less is More: The Case for Shorter Sports Seasons The modern sports calendar has a quantity problem. We started Bill’s Sports Blog to spark conversation around local, state, and national sports topics within the Hope Fieldhouse community.

Bill is a former sports reporter and every Tuesday morning he’ll be dropping a new blog post covering the biggest stories, debates, and ideas in sports.

The inaugural blog focused on the Timberwolves’ offseason with one route being a blockbuster trade for Giannis.

Bill’s proposed 3-team trade:

Timberwolves receive:
• Giannis Antetokounmpo
• Myles Turner

Bucks receive:
• Derrick White
• Jaden McDaniels
• Joan Beringer
• Julius Randle
• #28 pick from Minnesota
• Future pick swaps from Boston

Celtics receive:
• Rudy Gobert

Would you make this deal if you were the Timberwolves?

The Timberwolves face a consequential offseason as they watch two Western Conference juggernauts battle in the Conference Finals.

In the inaugural Hope Fieldhouse Sports Blog, Bill takes a look at the options Minnesota has as it attempts to build a championship roster around franchise star Anthony Edwards.

Bill breaks down:
• Why trading Julius Randle isn’t as simple as fans think
• The brutal reality of Minnesota’s future draft picks
• A wild 3-team Giannis Antetokounmpo trade proposal
• The case for a one-year reset around Ant

Read the full breakdown and comment on which path you’d take for the Wolves this offseason.
