Baltimore Kettlebell Club

Baltimore Kettlebell Club Family-owned fitness studio offering personal training and group classes. We cater to beginners and families, and offer classes for kids as well as seniors.

We specialize in strength & conditioning via kettlebells, powerlifting and strongman training. In the spring of 2007, Dan Cenidoza, a certified kettlebell instructor, started teaching a few friends kettlebells in the park. The group grew and Dan eventually opened Baltimore’s first (and only) kettlebell gym. The name has changed and the people vary, but what remains the same is that the kettlebell

is still the single most effective tool to build muscle and burn fat. And, we still meet weekly. Click here for the class schedule – https://bkc.sites.zenplanner.com/calendar.cfm

Our group consists of men and women of all ages and backgrounds. At anytime you could have grandmothers working alongside martial artists. Some had experience with weight training, some had never lifted a weight a day in their life, and nearly all had never used kettlebells before. We welcome rank beginners as well as the advanced. BKC is more of a community; it’s a supportive environment with camaraderie in our common goal of becoming better versions of ourselves.

New Blog post - 20 Rep Squat Program Hatfield Edition

If you've spent any real time in a weight room, you've probably heard about the 20-rep squat program. It goes by many names — Breathing Squats, Super Squats, The Widow Maker — but the idea is simple: load a bar with a weight you can squat for 10 reps, then do 20. The gap between those two numbers is filled with willpower, deep breathing, and the kind of gut-check that can't be faked.

The program dates back to the 1930s and '40s, when a lifter named Joseph Curtis Hise began doing high-rep squats and reported huge gains in muscle and bodyweight. His results spread through the strength community and were later advanced by Peary Rader, the founder of Iron Man magazine, who used the method to completely transform his own body. The program got its biggest boost in 1989, when Dr. Randall Strossen published Super Squats: How to Gain 30 Pounds of Muscle in 6 Weeks.

Find out how the Hatfield variation makes this classic program more accessible — and brutal — than ever:
