School’s out, but your workday isn’t? We’ve got you. 🙌

Today kicked off our first Play Day of the fall, giving kids a full day to play their favorite sports and games, get creative with arts and crafts, make new friends, and just have a really good day. đź’š

And we’re only getting started! More Play Days are coming for those days when the kids are off but life keeps moving.

AG Impact Day 2026 is almost here, and we’re getting ready for something BIG. 💚

On September 22, we’re celebrating our 53rd birthday and the incredible impact that sports, fitness, and play can have across New York City—from helping kids learn to swim and bringing active recess to schools to creating more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get in the game.

It’s a day to celebrate our community, share the stories behind our mission, and show what’s possible when everyone has the opportunity to move, play, and thrive.
And there’s even more to celebrate: All gifts made through September 22 are being matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000.

This AG Impact Day, your gift will go twice as far.

AG Impact Day is our inaugural day of giving, taking place on September 22. Every donation made now through September 22 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000, thanks to the Gutsy Mermaid Match!

That means your $25 gift becomes $50. Your $100 gift becomes $200.

The generosity behind this challenge comes from longtime Asphalt Green community member and AGUA Masters swimmer Fleur Sohtz. Inspired by the determination and community that have been such an important part of her own swimming journey, Fleur created the Gutsy Mermaid Match to inspire all of us to go the distance for Asphalt Green.

Together, we can unlock the full $10,000 match and make an even greater impact on the programs and community we care about.

For 25 years, Swim for the Future has carried forward the memory of two deeply loved members of our AGUA Masters community, Andrew Fisher and Doug Irgang, who tragically lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Andrew is remembered for his infectious smile, contagious laughter, and the way he always showed up for his teammates. Doug was warm, funny, dependable, and had a gift for making a new acquaintance feel like an old friend. They both shared a deep love of swimming, and through this fund, that love continues to reach new generations.

Since 2001, more than 450 scholarships totaling over $1 million have given talented young swimmers the opportunity to grow in and out of the pool, with some continuing on to the NCAA level, the Olympic Trials, and the Olympic Games.

Everyone Plays: Basketball welcomes athletes ages 4–12 of ALL abilities! With small-group instruction, a 2:1 athlete-to-coach ratio, and staff specially trained to support a wide range of needs, each athlete receives individualized coaching while building foundational basketball skills, confidence, and a love of the game.
