We want to celebrate the people who make Full Tilt what it is—the members! Each month, we’ll spotlight one member and share a little about their fitness journey, accomplishments, goals, and what makes Full Tilt special to them.

Tell us about yourself — where are you from and what do you do?
I’m from Vitoria, Brazil but I’ve been in the US for about 20 years. I’m an orchestra director for a middle school in Louisville as well as a professional pianist and cellist.
How long have you been at Full Tilt?
I have been at Full Tilt for about a year and a half. I started one on one lessons with Coach Welp before signing up for classes.
What was your fitness background before Full Tilt?
My fitness background was very different from what it is now. I would workout two to three times a week, but doing low impact exercises and very minimal endurance when working out.
What brought you to Full Tilt? & What was your biggest goal when you started?
Coach Welp told me about Full Tilt and invited me for a tryout lesson. My biggest goal was to get guidance on how to make the best out of lifting weights and exercising in general. To be honest I had no idea what Crossfit was about.
What’s your favorite lift or movement? or What’s your least favorite movement?
My favorite movements are the box jump and deadlift. My least favorite at the moment is the over head squat.
What’s something you can do now that you couldn’t do when you started?
There are so many things that I could not do before. The biggest one is having endurance to do high impact workouts for over 30 minutes.
What’s your favorite thing about the Full Tilt community? or What makes Full Tilt different from other gyms you’ve experienced?
One of my favorite things about Full Tilt is the ability of scaling the exercises but also getting challenged to push myself even further. The coaches are very supportive and you feel like you’re part of a community.
What would you tell someone who’s thinking about joining but is nervous/intimidated?
Full Tilt will change your mindset from thinking about what you think you
