Who here has been told, by somebody, at some point, that deadlifts are bad for your back?

If your hand just went up, you are not alone. That is the first question asked in our Debunking the Deadlift workshop, and every time, most of the room raises a hand.

Here is the truth. A deadlift is not the enemy. A rounded back moving under a heavy load with no coaching is a different story, and that is exactly what we spend an hour fixing. We start with a dowel, move to a wall, add a kettlebell, and finish with a barbell, and by the end almost everyone in the room has done the actual lift, safely, for the first time.

If that show of hands would have included yours, this workshop was built for you. It is free, it is part of our grand opening, and it gives you a real reason to participate instead of just watching from the sidelines.

September 12. Only 12 spots. Link to save yours is in our bio.

This is the setup before our first Debunking the Deadlift workshop. Barbells loaded, room quiet, everyone about to walk in not knowing what the next hour would actually give them.

One of my clients has been scared of getting hurt again ever since a serious back injury a few years ago. She's cautious, and honestly, who wouldn't be. She showed up anyway, even though I could tell she was nervous walking in.

She worked through the movements, took every cue I gave her, and actually listened to her body instead of overthinking it. Somewhere in that hour something clicked. She felt her hamstrings and glutes doing the work, and her back stayed quiet the whole time.

By the end she picked up a kettlebell, then a barbell, and hit multiple reps at a weight she never thought she'd lift. A few days later her hamstrings are sore and her back feels nothing. That's not luck. That's what happens when you learn to move with confidence instead of fear.

Here's the thing though, the weight on the bar isn't really the point. What matters is she walked in scared and walked out proud of herself. That's what I want for every woman who comes through my door, and it's exactly why I built this workshop. It's about learning to participate in your own life again, without the fear holding you back.

We're opening Debunking the Deadlift to the public at our Grand Opening on September 12th. Come learn the hinge, ask questions, and see what your body can actually do.

Most Sunday mornings I do a little bit of work to get everything and everyone set up for a successful week. Check out this morning’s set up.

This morning, our 930 class stopped for a minute to celebrate a birthday. Eileen turned 70 in two weeks and pulled 165 pounds off the floor, for wraps, while the whole room cheered her on.

Honestly, that’s my favorite part of the group. Everyone comes in for their own strength, and somehow it turns into showing up for each other too. Birthdays, PR’s, rough days, we celebrate all of it together.

This is exactly the kind of room I wanted to build when I started a DBK strength women push pushing each other, cheering each other on, and keeping each other participating in life, no matter what age or stage.

Happy birthday Eileen. And thank you to everyone in this group, you make it what it is.

share this with someone who needs to know a room like this exists for them.

I will not apologize for any of these. Coaching women through strength is not a job for me. It is the whole point.

I want you to walk into the studio unsure and walk out knowing exactly what your body can do. I want you to hit the PR, and I want you to learn how to celebrate them. I want you to stop shrinking and start participating fully in the life you actually want to live.

That is strength, and it is for every woman ready to claim hers. No matter her age or how long she has been away from the gym.
