Scuds-Scuds & more Scuds. A 100 Size 18 Light Tan and a 100 Size 18 Gray. Headed out to a customer in Missouri. If you want a fly that produces everywhere there are Trout, then this is the Fly. At least 90% of my Trophy Trout ( over 20”) come on this Fly.

A friend/customer from Arkansas is in South Dakota working. He decided to do some fly fishing there with the 10’ 5 Weight he got from us. He was also using one of my Leech Patterns when he hooked this nice Northern Pike. Well done and Congratulations on an amazing catch. Thank you for sharing.

Just finished this 9’ 4 Weight for a Customer. It is a Toray Graphite Royal Silk Blank. It goes from Black to a Rich Royal Purple Glow in the Light. It is Fast and Lightweight.

We had a nice trip to Meramac Springs and River. James and I did really well Fly Fishing the River just outside the Park. Everything was Caught and Released either on a #14 or #16 Signiture Tan Scud or a #16 Bead Head Flashback Pheasant Tail. They were all Rainbow Trout Except for a Small Brown Trout that decided to show me some Love. My wonderful wife helped out taking pictures as always. It is always great being out with family.

It was a great day yesterday to Fly Fish Bennett Springs and Niangua River. Not only were the Trout eager to take a fly but I was joined on this trip by our 13 year old son James. He is getting better and better every time he goes with me Fly Fishing. James and myself Caught and Released a lot of Trout yesterday. I had several in the 2 1/2 pound to 4 pound range. The Trout are healthy and hungry for the right Flies.
We only needed 2 Flies yesterday
#14 or #16 Signiture Light Tan Scud
#12 Red Wire Worm
Get out and take a kid fishing. Not only will it be more memorable for you but they will remember it forever. Pass on the Sport of Fly Fishing or just Fishing to the next generation.

We finally made it to Fly Fish Meramac Springs and the Meramac River. It is a nice park, with lots of Trout but the Meramac River is where it’s really at to fish. Caught and Released so many Rainbow and Brown Trout that it was hard to take pictures. They were Great fighting and acrobatic Trout. If your wanting to Fly Fish and your in the St James area forget the Trout Park and head straight to the Meramac River.
I make my own leaders from Segar Red Label Flouracarbon. My leader set up for this trip was about 10’ long. Consisting of 5’ of 10 pound,3’ of 6 pound, 1’ of 4 pound to my point fly and a 1’ of 4 pound to my dropper. It was the perfect set up for the river where I was Nymphing.
Only needed and used 2 flies for this adventure.
They were a
#16 Bead Head Flashback Pheasant Tail
#16 Signiture Light Tan Scud
If was great being out with my wife on this glorious Holiday Weekend.
