If you look at my last post those who know me well will understand how heartbroken I am to have learned this morning of Yamuna’s passing💔😥 I spent the day today just reminiscing in my mind of all the different opportunities I had to be with Yamuna in New York at her studio in Greenwich Village, as well as some different trainings that I have gone to over the years. I had signed up to do a five day workshop in Mexico with Yamuna this past winter and now I understand why it was canceIled 😢 I was first introduced to Yamuna’s body work in Green Bay over 20 years ago at a weekend workshop with over 300 Massage Therapists. I LOVED the ball rolling work that we did that weekend and I was so excited when I woke up Monday morning and my plantar fasciitis was gone!
Yamuna was decades ahead of her time with her body logic technique that she created and has taught to many other practitioners over the years. I am grateful to say I had a private body logic appointment with her many years ago in New York and then took a class at her studio. I knew I had discovered something that would stay with me the rest of my life💜 Yamuna created BODY ROLLING with balls so she could teach people how to do an affordable form of self therapy! I have learned so much from Yamuna through different trainings that I’ve attended and all her dvds and videos that she has shared through her Facebook over the years. My interest first started as I was looking for ways to deal with injuries and trauma that I had encountered in my life. When I realized that EVERYONE could benefit from body rolling I started teaching my Pilates clients and friends various body rolling techniques to help those who are dealing with pain and fascia and muscle tightness. In the 20 years that I have been following Yamuna, she continued to expand her education and understanding of the body imbalances that people deal with in their bodies. I love that she never stopped learning and that she continuously shared her knowledge with those with open minds! She taught the importance of your foot function and wrote a book on how to work on your feet using her Foot Wakers. You can find that on Amazon. It’s not too late to follow her. Her legend will live on as those who have learned and benefitted from her technique will continue to share it with others!
Sending love and hugs and prayers to all those who were close to Yamuna ❤️🙏🏼 Yamuna Zake was a beautiful, intelligent practitioner and will be greatly missed on this planet.
