Tai Chi Quan is a fist system (Chinese boxing) that blends softness with energetic movement in accordance with the theory of complementary interaction between yin and yang energies. Tai Chi follows the principles of Qi Gong and TCM and has been known to be called “moving” Qi Gong. It is suitable for everyone regardless of age, s*x, physical condition, even those suffering from chronic conditions.

Qi gong is the art of moving your Qi or life energy around your body in a conscious and mindful way over of long time with a lot of effort and patience. It involves repeating different sequences of natural flowing poses using deep abdominal breathing to guide your motions. This moving Qi keeps the energy channels, or meridians, in your body open and free from clogs and obstructions that can cause sickness and disease. Frequent or daily practice can keep the body energized, limber, relaxed, stress free, fit and healthy. Both are practiced daily by millions for their preventive & curative health functions. By teaching the practitioner to move ‘chi’ (life energy) around the body, the energy channels open and become free-flowing, preventing blockages that can lead to physical, mental and emotional challenges. Weekday morning classes explore the traditional Yang style 24-movement form. Weekday evening and Saturday morning classes teach traditional Wu style Tai Ji Quan. The short form (30 groups of movements) and the long form (89 groups of movements) are explored, and 2-person Tai Chi Push Hand drills. Classes also include instruction in traditional Qi Gong to improve your core strength and balance and to reduce stress and anxiety. Seasonal Qi Gong are also explored for preventative and curative healing powers, The Swimming Dragon qigong, Eight Pieces of Brocade qigong and Tai Chi Ruler systems of exercises. Friday morning's class practices the art of Yi Quan qi gong, which is a system of healing movements and dynamic meditations for a supple energized body, balanced emotions and an awakened mind. It follows all of the principles of Tai Chi Quan without the long challenging forms to remember. This class is available as a remote Zoom class. Small group classes, private classes and remote learning classes are also available.
