The 9th Annual Josh Hamer Memorial Tournament returns with an exciting new addition as it becomes presented by the Baseball Legacy Society. While continuing to honor Josh Hamer's life, passion for baseball, and commitment to others, this new partnership expands the tournament's mission to celebrate additional baseball legacies that continue to inspire future generations.

Today we want to recognize and thank our JV Head Coach Alex Peters for the incredible impact he has made on the John Carroll Baseball program.

Over the years, he poured countless hours into our players, gave his time selflessly, and provided unwavering support to the young men in our program. His dedication helped build our JV team into one of the premier programs in the MIAA A Conference, highlighted by a championship run that set the standard for what Patriot Baseball is all about.

The success of our varsity program is built on the foundation established at the JV level, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he invested in our players and our culture.

Thank you for your leadership, commitment, and tireless work on behalf of our student-athletes. The impact you’ve had will be felt for years to come.

We wish you nothing but the very best as you continue your journey. Once a Patriot, always a Patriot. ❤️⚾️

Hitting home runs was not something John Carroll senior Joey Coudon was known for at the start of his junior campaign, but a record-setting power display at the plate has etched Coudon’s name above former major leaguer Mark Teixeira and Patriots great KJ Hockaday in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association record book.

What came next was a combined 31 home runs the past two seasons to give him an MIAA-best 33 in his career. His 16 home runs during the 2026 campaign broke the school record of 15 he slugged last year and tied for the league’s single-season mark.

Maryland Player of the Year Joey Coudon of John Carroll earned the honor after batting .491 with 46 runs scored, 31 RBI, and 12 home runs during his senior season. ⚾️🏆
