North Bay Youth Rugby North Bay Summer Touch Rugby will be available to girls & boys, ages 6-11 years, or 1st grade - 5th graders. Hello North Bay Families!

(This will include children who have just completed their 5th grade year.) Practices and games will be held at John Carroll Tuesdays & Thursdays. We are excited to let families know that the North Bay Youth (Rookie) Summer Touch league has opened for registrations for the summer of 2022! We are pleased to be back after the unexpected break in 20-21 and can’t wait to see our Rookie players out on t

he pitch. This season will look a little different, with an updated skills training, a shortened season, additional registration steps, and slightly different ages playing. The coaches are excited about teaching the basics and hopefully building excitement in the younger players for the tackle teams that are available to middle school girls and boys and the high school teams after that. This year’s summer touch will be available to girls and boys, ages 6-11 years, or 1st grade through 5th graders. Practices and games will be held at John Carroll on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8pm, as we’ve done in the past, starting May 17, 2022 and finishing with a season closing tournament in early/ mid July. Registration fees at Aberdeen Parks and Rec will be $40. (This is the same registration site that has been used in past seasons.) This will include a t-shirt, rugby ball and the closing tournament festivities. A second registration of $10 is necessary with USA Rugby to cover insurance for the children to be on the field. Summer Youth Rugby is off and running!

What a night for North Bay Rugby.

We had 60+ kids out on the pitch to kick off the summer season, including the launch of our inaugural U5 division. Seeing the youngest generation take their first steps with a rugby ball in hand is exactly what this program is all about.

One of the coolest parts of the evening was watching former North Bay youth players—now parents—bringing their own kids out to learn the game and continue the tradition. The next generation of North Bay ruggers is already taking shape.

Even better, our coaching staff is made up entirely of North Bay Men's Rugby and North Bay Women’s Rugby alumni, giving back to the club and community that helped shape them as players and people.

From first-time players to future club veterans, the energy, smiles, and excitement were everywhere.

The future of Rugby is bright.

REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN FOR YOUTH TAG RUGBY!!

I've gotten a few questions if kids can still join our teams. The answer is a resounding YES! We are still getting all boys and girls ages 6 to 15 signed up for the program! If your little ones want to come give it a try (pun intended) have them come out to one of our practices.
