Our Nature Explore area just got a fresh delivery of sand and dirt, thanks to the continued generosity of Robinson Landscaping and Patio Design! This is something they’ve donated for the past several years, and our kids absolutely LOVE it. ❤️
From mud pies and sandcastles to construction sites, masterpieces, and all kinds of imaginative creations, a pile of dirt and sand can become just about anything when you put it in the hands of a child!

Last week, part of our team traveled to Grimes for Walk Your Plans - Des Moines, an innovative way to experience a building before construction even begins.

Instead of simply looking at blueprints on paper, the team was able to virtually walk through the planned YMCA renovation, getting a real sense of the layout, spaces, flow and how everything will come together.

Walk Your Plans uses immersive technology to turn architectural plans into a life-sized, interactive virtual experience. It gives us a chance to step into the plans, look around and provide feedback before construction begins.

And let us tell you… seeing the plans come to life is exciting!

We are so excited for what’s ahead and, most importantly, for the opportunity to bring these incredible additions, improvements and new spaces to the YMCA and the communities we serve. This project represents a tremendous investment in our community, and we can’t wait for you to experience it with us!

The future of the Y is taking shape—and it’s going to be amazing!

Last week, Kiki brought a little extra heart—and a whole lot of Dolly—to class!
Kiki's class paid tribute to the one and only Dolly Parton through movement, music, and plenty of smiles.
