The Senior Draw is up for Monday 2nd November, our first night of the season!

Note any cancellations will be notified here on FB and via email by 2pm on the day.

A couple of quick reminders:

⭐️Footwear may be trainers or boots with plastic cleats. No long metal studs allowed!

⭐️All teams must be wearing numbered tops - please ask us for a set of bibs if you don’t have a team kit.

⭐️Fields this season are:

Whether you’ve 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲, have refereed in the past and could do with a refresher, or are an experienced referee keen to get involved this season — we’d love to have you join us!

We’re holding a Referee Training Session at 𝟭𝟭𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮̄𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀.

The session will cover the basics of refereeing and is suitable for 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀. It’s an opportunity to learn, refresh your knowledge and get ready for the season.

𝗔𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 — 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱!

🟨 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝟳–𝟵 | 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗬

We’re particularly keen to encourage our younger players to pick up a whistle this season!

Through the 𝗢𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆, Years 7–9 can learn and develop their refereeing skills while gaining practical experience in our Junior Module.

Our planned pathway is:

👉 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟳 & 𝟴 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 → referee Year 5/6 games
👉 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟵+ 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 → referee Year 7/8 games

Refereeing within our Junior Module is a 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 and forms part of the referee development pathway. It’s a great opportunity to gain experience, build confidence and leadership skills, and learn much more about the game.

💰 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝟵+ & 𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗦 | 𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗗 𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗚

Year 9+ referees also have the opportunity to progress into our 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲, where referees are 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 $𝟭𝟮 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲.

To undertake paid Adult Module games, referees must have completed 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. Our Referee Training Session on Sunday 11 October meets this requirement.

So if you’re new to refereeing and keen to earn some money on a Monday night — fantastic! Come along to the training, learn the skills you need and we’ll help you get started.

Already an experienced or qualified referee but can’t attend on 11 October? 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝘀.

OTAGO TOUCH DEVELOPMENT DAY – WĀNAKA

Otago Touch is bringing a Development Day to the Wānaka Rugby Grounds on Friday 9 October!

With separate sessions for different ages and experience levels, this is a fantastic opportunity for players to develop their skills, build confidence and learn from experienced Otago Touch coaches.
