The Quartz Reef tournament was held over the weekend - it was great to be able to play after rain delayed play ,especially on Sunday. On Sunday we had a shortened format but played all the games. We had many visitors from out of town and the standard of tennis was high. Mostly round robin played in 6 divisions each day.

The Craig’s Investment Partners Junior Tournament which was held from 5-8 January at the Wanaka Tennis Club. There was some very good tennis played from the Under 10s through to the the Under 18s.

QUARTZ REEF
Quartz Reef Tournament - Saturday and Sunday 10,11 January
Most of the draws are round robin with the others being compass draws so we need everyone to report for briefing at 8.30am to give out rules and appoint a group leader for each group.
If it is raining we would still like everyone to report.
Updates will be on facebook.

Mens singles - Dan Milburn beat Finley Hall
Womens singles- Mackenzie Phillips beat Jordyn Phillips
Men Doubles - Dan and Noa Milburn beat Ryan Eggers and Gavin Mockford
Womens Doubles - Mackenzie and Jordyn Phillips beat Marina Sokolnikova and Carolyn Oakley-Brown.

There were some amazing tight fought battles in the consolation plates with some very close results and some fantastic tennis.

Craigs Investment Partners Junior tournaments are on Monday- Thursday this week - 5-8 January.
The club will be a busy place with all these young talented tennis players.

Stonewood Homes Open Tennis Tournament
Men's and women's singles playoff starts at 9.30 and 10am.
Women's singles final is at 10.30am.
Men's singles final at 12.30pm (and 3th and 4th place)
Women's doubles finals for round robin are at 1.30pm.
Men's doubles final is at 2.30pm.

There will be playoffs being played during the day for the minor placings.

Wanaka Tennis Club is hosting the Stonewood Homes Open Tennis tournament from 2-4 January. Play is underway today with some awesome tennis being played. The standard is very high with ranked NZ players.

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas and are getting ready for lots of tennis. Entries are open for all our tournaments which are from 2-8 January and 10,11th January. See our website with the all the details.
There will be social tennis on tomorrow, Saturday 27th December and Monday 29th December. There is no men’s tennis on Tuesday 30th December or 1st January but there will be courts available to book.
Tournaments start on 2nd January. There will be social tennis on Friday 9th January and usual social tennis will start again on 12th January.

January Tournaments - Places Are Filling Up

January is shaping up to be a huge month of tennis. Please get your entries in as soon as possible. The Quartz Reef Tournament may be capped due to demand.

There are tournaments for everyone:

Top-level players (Stonewood Homes Wanaka Open)
Juniors (Craigs Investment Partners Junior Open)
35+ age players (Quartz Reef +35 teams)
Court availability: Courts will be heavily booked 2-8 January and 10-11 January (evenings mostly available).

We will also need volunteers to help throughout the tournaments, and there will be plenty of great tennis to watch.
