🎉 ONE MORE SLEEP! 🎉

One more sleep, one more day of mahi… and then the girls are hitting the road! 🚗💨

The excitement is definitely building. Bags are being packed (and repacked), the checklist has been checked a hundred times, and we’re making sure we’ve packed absolutely EVERYTHING… including the kitchen sink! 🤣

Tomorrow’s plan is simple:
✔️ Finish mahi.
✔️ Home for a shower.
✔️ Throw on something that resembles “dress to impress”… (let’s be honest, comfort wins every time! 😂)
✔️ Load up the Ute.
✔️ Music up.
✔️ Hit the road, Jack!

These weekends are about so much more than the bowls. They’re about friendships, making memories, representing with pride, and embracing every opportunity that comes our way.

Frankton Junction… here we come!

TKT ON TOUR | ROHE CHALLENGE 2026

This weekend sees two of our very own Pania Reed & Chelle Xstac Cutee proudly representing Tainui at the annual Rohe Challenge, being held at Frankton Junction Bowling Club on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd August.

For us junior bowlers, from Te Kuiti Bowling Club, opportunities like this don’t come around every day. To pull on the Tainui colours, compete alongside and against some incredibly talented bowlers, and continue learning at a higher level is something we’re extremely grateful for.

As much as we’re looking forward to stepping onto the green, we’re just as excited to have been given the opportunity to play alongside some of the most experienced and talented bowlers in our rohe, while also testing ourselves against equally skilled opposition. Experiences like these challenge us, inspire us, and help us grow both on and off the green.

We’re also looking forward to catching up with familiar faces, making new friendships, sharing plenty of laughs, and soaking up everything this weekend has to offer. That’s one of the best parts of our sport, the whānau, the camaraderie, and the lifelong connections created along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support us on our bowling journey. Every opportunity helps us grow, not only as bowlers but as people.

This weekend marked the end of our Waikato Junior coaching programme, but in many ways it feels like the beginning.

The beginning of what is shaping up to be a busy, proactive season filled with opportunities, goals, and growth. The coaching sessions may have finished, but the real work starts now.

For me, success this season won’t just come from turning up on game day. It will come from locking in the calendar, creating balance, staying disciplined, committing to self-training, self-coaching, and embracing the age-old formula…

Practice. Practice. Practice.

I’ve always known I have a bit of a “unique” delivery. 😅 It might look like I’ve got it all together (yeah right! 😂), but the reality is there’s always room to improve, or better yet, room for self-development.

One thing this weekend reinforced for me is the difference between simply identifying a problem and actually helping someone solve it.

It’s easy to hear, “You need to stop that unnecessary arm movement, it’ll improve your bowls.” But if that’s all you’re told, you’re often left wondering, “This is what I’ve always done… it feels natural… so how do I actually change it?”

Changing something that’s become second nature isn’t as simple as flicking a switch.

What made this weekend so valuable was having coaches who didn’t just point out what needed improving … they provided practical, achievable ways to improve it. Going back to the basics, strengthening my mat routine, and making small, purposeful adjustments gave me something to work towards, rather than simply something to stop doing.

To me, that’s the difference between criticism and coaching.

Real growth doesn’t come from being told what’s wrong. It comes from being shown how to make it better.

A huge thank you to Russ, Lynda, and everyone involved in supporting the Waikato Juniors throughout the programme. Every session has given us something to take away, and I’m incredibly grateful for the time, patience, and knowledge you’ve invested in us.

Now it’s over to us.

Time to put in the work. Time to trust the process. Time to keep learning.

August is shaping up to be another busy month for the TKT ON TOUR crew, with our girls representing across multiple sports and competitions. We’re proud to be flying the flag, building experience, and creating memories wherever the road takes us.

Every event is another opportunity to learn, grow, and represent our whānau and community with pride. If you see us out and about, come and say hello—or better yet, come along and support!

TKT ON TOUR – No Rest for the Wicked!

Yesterday was another eventful day for the TKT ON TOUR crew as we stepped onto the oche for our local darts competition.

While we didn’t come away with a championship title this time, one thing became very clear… there are definitely the makings of some future champions within our group. Every game was another opportunity to learn, gain experience, and have a few laughs along the way.

But there’s no time to put the feet up!

Today we’re swapping darts for bowls as we head to Cambridge to join more than 30 Waikato junior bowlers for a day of training. It’s all about learning from one another, sharing knowledge, challenging ourselves, and enjoying some quality competition; all in the name of self-improvement and our shared love of the game.

Different sport. Same crew. Same passion.

🎯 TKT ON TOUR… staying local and playing local! 🎯

Today we’re keeping it close to home as TKT ON TOUR swaps the bowls for the darts and enters our local Waitomo Club Darts Club Championships – Entered Pairs.

We’re under no illusions. We know there are some seriously talented dart players in the club, but we’re always up for giving something new a crack! Whether it’s bowls or darts, it’s about supporting our local club, having a laugh, meeting great people, and creating more memories together.

Our only goal for today? Don’t hit the chalker! 🥴😂 (Those who know… know!)

Best of luck to everyone competing today. Here’s to plenty of treble 20s, a few clutch doubles, good banter, and an awesome day all round.

This weekend saw two of the TKT On Tour crew head in different directions, taking on two different bowls competitions.

While we didn’t finish in the top 3 or 4, the experience, friendships, laughs, and camaraderie were absolutely top tier ♥️💛💚

Every game is another lesson, every trip another opportunity to grow. There’ll be a bit of rearranging, planning, and yes… a few sacrifices along the way to chase even bigger dreams and bigger goals.

We’re committed to being the best we can be.

What an incredible day representing the Waikato Women’s Y1–5 squad! 🖤💛♥️

Bringing together a talented group of women to compete in singles, pairs, triples and fours is no easy task. Finding the right combinations, different personalities and different playing styles takes work. Some of us talk our way through an entire game (on the green, from one end to the other), while others let their bowls do the talking!

One achievement that definitely deserves a mention… us Te Kuiti girls made it through the whole day without a drop of alcohol while we were playing! 😂 We honestly surprised ourselves, but we got there!

More importantly, we got the job done. We were proud to be part of the winning Waikato Women’s squad. Even the games we lost were only by the narrowest of margins, proving just how competitive every match was.

What stood out the most, though, wasn’t just the results. It was the camaraderie. The support, encouragement and genuine excitement for each other could not only be seen, it could definitely be heard! The backing from our teammates on the sidelines showed exactly what this Waikato Women’s Junior squad is all about.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day such a success. I’m incredibly proud to have been part of this amazing group of wāhine.

Bring on the next regional battle… 👀

A great last round of 4 wins by the ladies at the Battle of the Bombays Year 1-5 Quad wasn't quite enough to wrestle the trophy off Bowls Auckland who won by 1 rink point. Congratulations 🎉🎉
The Men's team played well with only 2pts separating 1st- 4th place in their competition.
A great day out for all players & coaches and awesome to see so much potential in the junior ranks. Keep up the great work guys 🤩🤩
