It is with with deep sadness we share that Tom Sharland passed away last week. Tom played senior rugby for the club for 18 years spanning 3 decades, starting out as a winger before making the shift in to ho**er. After retiring he coached our senior reserve team for a short period and helped out with preseason training for the senior team. Tom was also heavily involved in harriers and road biking doing up to 50km on his electric bike in his 80s. Our thoughts are with Margaret, Doug, Maree and the Sharland family at this sad time.

Hi everyone,
At this stage with approval from the councils, games are ok to go ahead for tomorrow … it is meant to stop raining soon!!
In saying that, the final call will be made at 7:30am tomorrow morning, so check back here for any updates.
If the games are on, please can everyone stay off the middle of the field (as per pic) for the U6-u11 to try and save the fields 🙂

It is with with deep sadness we share that Morrie Nelson passed away recently. Morrie joined the club in 1960 aged 19, after moving to Nelson. As well as playing for the senior team in the 1960s, Morrie was also the club custodian, a junior coach, senior manager, committee member, and loyal
club supporter. Our thoughts are with Lyn and the Nelson family at this sad time

NRFC would like to acknowledge the serious injury suffered by Kwaid Ahhoi yesterday during the Div 2 game against Waimea Old Boys Rugby Football Club Inc. Its never a nice thing to see a player carried from the field.
We would like to extend our thanks to the Waimea team for their support immediately after the incident.
We would also like to thank the medics from both teams for the outstanding care they provided on the field. We are thankful that both were present.
Kwaid and his family would like to let you all know that he is doing well but has an unknown recovery time ahead. They have received a huge amount of messages and offers of support and it is greatly appreciated.
We ask that you please respect the families privacy in the coming days.
