Another weekend of football is here, with our Design Windows Junior and Youth teams taking to the pitches across the region!

From our youngest players just starting their football journey through to our youth teams competing each week, we wish everyone good luck - have a fantastic game!

Our senior teams are in action right across the region this weekend.

If you're looking for some football close to home, get down to Neale and watch the Reserves and Fourths, or Botanics to support Locomotive then our Diamonds as they take the field on home turf.

Due to the heavy and consistent rainfall, all sports fields are now CLOSED to protect the greens.

Mōrena Nelson, sports fields are OPEN 🏈 - Wednesday 3 June.

However, following the last few days heavy rainfall, we ask all users to avoid play in areas where ground conditions are still very wet or vulnerable, as this can cause significant damage to the playing surfaces.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping protect the sports fields during these soggy conditions.

⚽🖤🤍MATCH REPORT - DESIGN WINDOWS FC NELSON RED PANDAS 🤍🖤⚽

Thanks to Coach Liam for getting this report in!

Our best game so far! Lots of teamwork, communication, passing, defending, shielding the ball. Was an all round great game.

Our first goal came from Frankie applying pressure to their defenders, winning the ball and slotting it into the net. Golden Bay hit back with a through ball that one of our defenders swung and missed, their players booted the ball into our net. Taylor, our first half goalie saved us from going 2 - 1 down with an excellent David De Gea-esc stretching leg save.

The second half started 1 - 1, Frankie got another, dribbling the ball past 3 Golden Bay defenders before putting the ball into the left corner. 5 minutes after that Taylor made a run down the left wing and cut the ball inside onto her right foot making a finesse finish through the legs of two defenders, slotting the ball in the right corner. Goal of the game for sure!
Adisson, one of our new players, received a pass and knocked the ball past their defenders and dribbled all the way to goal and passed it into the bottom right corner.

Golden bay got one back from an unlucky deflected cross/pass that rolled into the right corner.

Final Score - 4-2 Win! Taylor won player of the day for a stellar performance in goal and out field.

Amazing stuff Liam and the Red Pandas! 👊
