My name is Kara-Shay, I’m part of the amazing team of trainers here at Miki D’s.
One of the reasons I’m passionate about helping women overcome gym anxiety is because I experience it too.
You might assume that because I’m a Personal Trainer and work in a gym, I must feel confident every time I walk through the doors. But the truth is that there have been plenty of days where I’ve felt self-conscious, intimidated, unmotivated, or worried about what others might think.
And I see the same thing in the women I work with every day.
Women who want to get stronger.
Women who want to feel healthier.
Women who desperately want to build confidence.
But they’re waiting until they feel “ready.”
The thing I’ve learned (both through my own journey and through coaching others) is that confidence doesn’t come first.
Action comes first.
The magic isn’t in being fearless. It’s in showing up for yourself despite the fear.
Every time you walk into the gym when you’re nervous, try a new exercise when you’re unsure, or keep going when your inner critic is LOUD, you’re building something far more important than fitness: You’re building self-trust.
And that’s where real confidence comes from. 💛
