Last week of working ‘over full time hours’! It’s been a bit of a mission but not fully in the ways I expected!

Over the last 6 weeks my training has taken a bit of a dive, my nutrition not as on point as I would have liked - but first world problems right!
🤔
So come the end of term I’m heading into project ‘Me’! That dosent mean strict diet, OTT exercise - it really means doing all the things I usually do to look after me - to allow me to be the best mum I can be for Flint and to be my more authentic self.

My why!

Being as fit as I can be for as long as I live - to ensure I can give my son the best of me.

That heart ballon behind me, he gave that to me.l! Saw it when he was out with his Anma (my mum) and told her he had to get it.

This little man relies on me to love him, teach him, nourish him and guide him!

So, when the motivation is low I just remember my real deep down WHY - and discipline gets me in my gym clothes or even to put the running shoes on and head out for a walk and scooter.

6 weeks post op!

Physio aka TORTURE Sessions have begun!! But, it’s all good as I know why it hurts and I know where I’m wanting to go.

Really enjoying my spin instructing back in London (whilst working full time as. PE Teacher) I would instruct/coach another 10-12 classes a week, mainly spin but some Aqua and Body Combat too.

So only taking 1x class a week does feels a bit like a hobby rather than work… 😃.

But this class allows me to use skills I dont in my normal school job and this is where my creativity lies… I can’t paint, sew, or draw… but I can cook and design a booming indoor cycling class.
So I’ll keep spinning and performing my rehab exercises and one day soon you might see me lifting something lol.

3 weeks post surgery today and back instructing my indoor cycling class and with the new term starting next week I’ll be back at school.

Physio will start and the rehab truly begins! I want to lose my fluff and get kick arse strong again! .

Strength - So important as we age and thinking ahead to peri/menopause even more so!

Watch this space - it won’t be fast or easy … but nothing that’s worth it ever is. 💯.

Just keeping on being consistent! I’ve got 1 week till pretty major surgery in my shoulder - then it’s rehab time baby!

Whilst no one enjoys pain/having to have forced ‘down’ time, I am looking forward to this happening so then I can make my ‘come back’.

I’ve missed resistance training for the last 12months - I love my bike don’t get me wrong…, but lifting heavy is fun and oh so important as we get older.

The joy I get from helping others is immense. Recently I’ve been receiving some of the most awesome feedback and I feel truly blessed to be helping people on their journey!

I also LOVE dress ups and themed classes AND Basketball..

So this Thursday marks 30years since the Nelson Giants won their first National League title - so my spin on Thursday 5:30pm (come and join me) will be 90’s and Basketball themed too!

That time of year when I get so frustrated with gyms/fitness people etc saying this many minutes of exercise for this piece of chocolate!

1. Unless you know weight and intensity of a person you’re guessing

and every other number under the sun…..

We dont just exercise to burn calories!

We should be moving to help our bodies and because we enjoy it, knowing that then our bodies will help us!

Currently I’m stuck to the bike for all of my training…. Two days into the week = 2 cycles!

When I walked the Queen Charlotte earlier this year - I went over an ankle really bad… but fell hard on the other side. Causing a few injuries….

I’ve been suffering with a shoulder injury that just wasn’t getting better. Turns out I screwed that with my fall as well.

Had a scan yesterday……. and
the diagnosis is confirmed… I knew it would be as knows her stuff and if she reckons… I know it’s what she says!

Bursitis in the shoulder (+ some ACL issue but rest should help that).
😜
So now await the steroid 💉 - and then we should be able to go again!!!

Focussing on the fact that ‘fitness is a lifelong journey’! And tbh I reckon I’m still kickin it!
