Harbour Capital Masters

Harbour Capital Masters Harbour Capital Masters Swim Club is a friendly swim club for all swimmers aged 20+ Swim with us, if you are fortunate to live in Wellington or are a visitor.

We welcome swimmers of every ability, and status, who are over 20 years of age. HCM originated in the early 1980s as New Zealanders realised that they did not need to stop actively swimming once they moved into adulthood. HCM was Incorporated in March 2002 and is governed by a constitution. It was also registered as a Charitable organisaton in June 2008

HCM is run by an elected committee with our

membership numbers over 50 swimmers, of all levels of experience. Many swim for fitness alone, challenging themselves in workouts by swimming against their own best times. Others challenge their goals through competition, by regularly attending swim meets with other team members. Sessions currently are 7pm Wednesday and 7am Saturday at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre. For more information contact our President by e-mail ([email protected]) or message us. New Swimmers: you don't have to join immediately. Your first 2 swim sessions are free apart from pool admission charges. It is then we twist your arm to join us for fun, fitness, and friendship. Details about membership can be found here:http://www.hcmswim.org.nz/HCMDocuments/HCM_Membership_Form%202015.pdf

The NZ Masters Swimming champs are currently happening at the new aquatic centre in Hawkes Bay and the records are being smashed, including former HCM swimmer Colin Coombs. Congrats Colin! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ Follow the NZMS page for more updates.

Congrats to Colin Coombs for setting a NZ record (still to be ratified) in the Men’s 30-34 age group in the toughest race of them all, the 400m Individual Medley - the time was 5:14.06 (previous time was 5:18.64 set in 2001). Great effort Colin, especially when followed up by a record breaking relay sprint πŸ‘.
