Everyone at Celtic Squash Club would like to wish club member and coach Kevin Knox the very best of luck as he represents IRELAND in the Masters Home Internationals in Cardiff this weekend. Kevin is no stranger to the International Squash scene and has represented Ireland on multiple occasions previously, but as Kevin always says, every time you make a team, you have to embrace it because you work hard all year to earn your place. Well done Kevin and congratulations.

Well done to Kieran and the team, great result in Thurles last night, winning the Munster Squash Division 3 title. It was a close one, but the team did the business. Missing from the photo were Harry Knox, John Dunphy, and Johnny Collin, who all played a part during the league. Well done to all and fair play to Limerick Lawn Tennis Club for a great final.

The Munster Squash Leagues were wrapped up last night in Thurles with Celtic Squash Club versus Limerick Lawn Tennis Club in the Division 3 final. The Fixture got off to a great start with both teams taking a match each, then in the next two matches, it looked like the Morrissey crew were going to take the title back to Waterford early, but Daniel O'Reagan had other plans and came back from 2-1 down to win the match in the 5th.

Now it's 2 all in matches, and the decider is on. The Celtic captain, Kieran Hally, is taking on the Limerick man Tomasz Kowalewski in a match that the Celtic player won 3-0 to win the Munster Division 3 title.

Congratulations to Celtic on another impressive season. Thank you to Thurles Squash-Club for hosting the final and to Gerry Connaghton for organizing things in the background. Well done to all players from both teams for making it a great final, and to all the other players and teams for making the league competitive.

And that's a wrap, after a few tears, a few laughs and a few yelps it's all over and the results are in.

Before we get to the results there are some 'Thank You' messages, first to all the parents who have supported the Junior Academy and the kids over a long season.

Thanks to all the coaches for giving up their time week in week out, a big shout out to everyone who helps out in our Junior Academy. πŸ‘

Lastly we want to say thanks to our Sponsor Ardy Kennedy - for the last number of years Ardy has been involved with the sponsorship of our Junior Club Championships, over the last few years we have made massive progress with kids winning national titles and representing Squash Ireland at Home Internationals, European Championships and World Junior championships. πŸ‘

None of this would not have been possible without the support from Ardy, and everyone mentioned above. πŸ’ͺ

And just when we thought it was all over, we go again this weekend with the Junior Club Championships πŸ†

This is where all our juniors do battle with each other to see where the progress is or how much work they have to do over the summer.

It's great to see the juniors enjoying competitive squash, most of these players are international players and have represented Ireland, some are national champions and some have all of this ahead of them.

All of this is possible because of the support of parents and coaches and the continued support of sponsors like Ardy Kennedy who has been sponsoring our Junior Club Championships for a good number of years.

None of what we at Celtic Squash Club have achieved with our Junior Academy could be done without the support from Ardy, from parents and all the kids who we love to coach. This is something we will always be grateful for.

Celtic Club Championships 2026. This weekend we had our final senior tournament of the season.

Massive shout to Alfie Hale Sports for their continued support of our annual club championship - local business supporting local clubs. Thanks to everyone at Alfie's.

It was great to see the dressing full with squash bags all over the place, great to see people coming into the club to watch some squash matches and supporting the players.

Thanks so much to Susan for helping out with the food, teas and coffee, thanks to all the members for supporting the event and everyone who referee'd matches.

It's a really good weekend of squash and it's great to see the club busy, playing matches over the two days is hard, but it's all worth it - the feedback from everyone is positive and we would love to see more members taking the plunge and getting involved next year, it's not that bad, apart a few aches and pains on Monday, Tues, Wed ..... πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

Congratulations to our member Mark Furlong, who represented IRELAND last weekend in GLTC Squash Galway for the MO40. Mark and his teammates narrowly lost out on a win and finished as respectable runners-up to the winners, England Squash. Well done Mark.
