Founded in 1923. Ireland’s oldest and proudest junior league club. Playing in the 1A and 4A leagues at adult level.

We also compete in a number of schoolboy and schoolgirl leagues now also. We’ve a thriving academy for kids aged 4-10.

U11E Waterford schoolboys league;

St Josephs v De la Salle .

The rain held off for what proved to be the boys best display of the season so far. De la Salle started the game looking very dangerous but this young St Josephs team responded excellently playing very quick attacking football.
Two good finishes by Darragh and a Tom Roche penalty really put our boys in control of the match at half time.The second half again was full of attacking football with De la Salle scoring twice in between goals from Louis, Harry, Alvey and Liam . All players put in a great effort showing their continued improvement.

Villa B 2–3 St. Joseph’s A 💙🤍

What a game yesterday morning against a very good and well-organised Villa side. We always love these battles with Villa, and today was another brilliant contest between two teams who never gave up.

We started the game very strongly, playing against a stiff breeze, and put Villa under plenty of pressure from the very start.

Kacper was causing all sorts of problems down the wing, beating his defender and then going around the keeper, only to see his effort come back off the post! He had another two really good opportunities afterwards, but the Villa goalkeeper was equal to both and kept his team in the game.

We kept pushing, and eventually the goals came.

A fine finish to give us the lead after some excellent pressure and team play.

⚽️ Second half – Seanie Connor
Seanie added his second shortly after the break scoring from a corner to put us in a strong position.

⚽️ 45 mins – Villa penalty
Villa pulled one back from the spot and, to their credit, kept battling right until the end.

⚽️ Seanie Connor – Hat-trick! 🎩⚽️⚽️⚽️
Seanie completed a fantastic hat-trick with another excellent finish, putting us back two goals ahead.

Villa never stopped fighting and got a second late on, setting up a nervy finish, but the boys showed great character to see the game out.

A fantastic team performance from everyone involved. 👏

It wasn’t just about the goals today. The work rate, pressure, defending, passing and attitude from the whole squad were excellent. Everyone played their part, and it was great to see the boys battling for each other.

A massive well done to Seanie on his hat-trick, but equally important was the contribution from every single player. 💙🤍

Huge thanks, as always, to our brilliant parents and supporters for travelling and getting behind the boys. 👏

Thanks also to the referee for a good game and to Villa for another great contest. We genuinely love these battles and look forward to the next one!

Massive thanks to and who carried out some much needed pitch and perimeter fencing maintenance over the last few days. This type of work is essential for the continued upkeep of our facilities, to ensure our Academy, underage and senior teams have the best facilities at their disposal. 14B away to De La Salle
We started well , putting plenty passes together and creating chances, we worked their keeper plenty, shots from Jack and Dylan nearly breaking the deadlock after great work from our wingers. We went in 0 0 at H/T unlucky not to be ahead .
Our defence, well organised by Jamie and crunching tackles by Dylan Joy and Alfie keep them out. 2nd half started like the 1st , us well on top , a great run and pass by Jack Lacey and a super finish from Ali put us 1 up, 2mins later 2 up , Jack O Regan and Dylan O Keeffe linked up and Jack fired in the bottom corner. Lennon was flying down the wing all day and teed Ali up for his 2nd, 3 up. A lasst ditch tackle to prevent a sure goal from Shay made sure we kept a clean sheet . Thanks to De La Salle for a great game , all the support from the line and Dawn Pork and Bacon who kindly sponsors our match footballs for the entire season . Congratulations to the whole squad , a super win, and great effort from each and every 1 of them ,

Leo has been with St Joseph’s AFC since he was just 3, and it’s fantastic to see his hard work, dedication and love for football paying off. Everyone at the club is incredibly proud of him.

Yesterday, our U11B team took on Johnville Fc in their second pre-season game.

Another challenging test for our young team against a very well-organised and technical Johnville side, but the team never gave up and kept pushing right until the final whistle.

Both teams played with great spirit and determination throughout the game.

A big thank you to Johnville for hosting us. We wish them the very best of luck for the season ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to James Falconer Chauffeur Hire for the outstanding support they provided throughout the inaugural Michael Grant International Memorial Tournament.

From the moment our visiting French club arrived in Waterford on Thursday, right through until the tournament came to a close and the gates closed at 6:30pm on Saturday, James and his team looked after every aspect of our transport logistics with professionalism, reliability and genuine care.

Their role wasn’t about transporting hundreds of people.

It was about ensuring our guests from France were looked after every step of the way.

From everyone at St Joseph’s AFC and Michael’s Family, we want to say a huge thank you to Sean O’Neill – AKA DJ Nailer.

Sean very kindly provided the PA system for the morning before taking to the decks and absolutely rocking the socks off everyone for the entire day.

From the moment the first teams arrived until the final whistle, Sean created an incredible atmosphere that brought the whole tournament to life. His music kept the energy high, the smiles wide and the celebrations going all day long.

One of the greatest sights of the tournament was watching so many children not only showing their skills on the football pitch, but also showing off their dance moves off it! Players, parents, coaches, volunteers and supporters all found themselves singing, clapping and dancing along to the music.

Sean’s enthusiasm, professionalism and unbelievable energy added something truly special to the inaugural Michael Grant International Memorial Tournament. His music became the soundtrack to a day that will live long in the memories of everyone who attended.

Events like this are made special by people who quietly give their time and talents to help others, and Sean did exactly that.

The PANDA team ensured we had everything we needed to keep our complex clean, tidy and safe throughout the day, allowing everyone to simply enjoy what was a fantastic occasion.
