U15 • St Joseph’s 4–0 Ballinroad
Champions 25/26 💙🏆
A must‑win morning at John Grant Park, and the lads delivered in style. With the league title on the line, you could feel the stakes — and the support from everyone who came out meant the world 💙
Ballinroad arrived well organised, physical, and far better than their league position suggests, but today belonged to St Joseph’s. After a nervy start, we grew into the battle. Leroy Halligan, Jamie Smith Hoban and Gbalabos set the tone, winning the midfield fight and freeing our wide threats.
Darragh Caulfield caused havoc down the right, and momentum swung our way.
The opener came from pure determination — Jamie O’Shea chasing what looked like a lost cause, bursting through and finishing coolly for 1–0. At the back, Alex Halik, Davin, Shay, JJ and Ryan handled everything thrown at them, while Callum was unlucky to see a goal ruled out before the break.
Second half, we came out ruthless. Jamie O’Shea struck again for 2–0 before Alex produced a world‑class save to prevent a nervy finish.
Changes brought fresh legs with Marko and Jason, and the pressure told — Callum made it 3–0, and Jamie completed his hat‑trick to seal a famous 4–0 win.
A huge effort all season. Every player earned this. As a club, we couldn’t be prouder — our first team back in competitive schoolboy football, all homegrown from our academy.
Days like this remind us of the legacy of Michael Grant — the man who reignited our academy and shaped this pathway. His son Shay is the heartbeat of this team, and the Grant influence will live on in St Joseph’s for years.
This one’s for you, Michael.
