Nenagh CC were formed in 2013. We are a cycling club from Co. Tipperary that focuses a lot on racing but we also have a large leisure group too. Tipperary.

Three course meal for the weekend.

Starter: Saturday 9am from the hotel. This delicate appetiser will be a tasty morsel that sees us take on Shallee and up over into Newport before hitting Daly's Cross.

Main Course: Sunday 8am from Tesco. This is a traditional authentic favourite. The extended lake. Hard to imagine after I capitulated last week, but fingers crossed 🤞.

Dessert: Monday 9am from the Hotel. A lovely little palate cleanser, this sweet treat will see us take on the Roscrea, Birr, Borrisokane route.

If you aren't bursting after that you've bested me.

We had a superb group out on Sunday that really stretched its legs during the hour of power.

Eoin, Stephen, and the two Wills began rolling from Carrigahorig, and by the time we hit Scariff for the sprint, there were tears, trauma and massive gains. It's the time of the season where the Coffee stop is getting serious, breakfast rolls gone, replaced by small snacks. The pre-season efforts really starting to pay off now.

Still room for improvement though, we just need two or three more bodies to get that pace up!!

Great effort lads, also great to hear Andy and Keith are making their comeback, hopefully we'll see them in action in the next couple of weeks.

Tesco at 8am for the Lake spin tomorrow morning.

Should be another good one, cracking forecast again. (Obviously bring a rain jacket because the ole Met Eireann has been known to make small errors).

1 hour warmup into Portumna, 1 hour of Power (Not too much power as its early, just a simple rollover)then Scariff for a coffee. Nice and steady up out of Killaloe and home in time for a nice hot bath.

Great to have 6 out for the lake spin on Sunday! With some luck we'll have more as the weather and the light improves. Anybody around on a Sunday that wants to join us for a 110km spin around the lake is welcome to join us!

If numbers are small we do a no-drop spin Nenagh- Portumna- Scariff- Killaloe- Portroe- Nenagh, with a coffee stop in Scariff.

If we get more then we will seperate based on ability and the racing group will give the leisure group a headstart from Portumna and then it's fox and the hounds racing for Scariff.

Notable to have Stephen out on a Sunday, and we have Will Killackey making his comeback as well (Which was lucky, because I needed him to tow me home).

Celebrate the New Year with us!

10am at the Abbey Court, we will do a 2hr/60km spin and finish up with a coffee in the hotel after.

Nenagh Club spins this weekend, will be the last organised spins of the 2022 season. Then we rest until February 2023.

This Saturday 9am from the hotel, is a route that will allow a short 32km loop, that then kicks off again out to Birdhill for those that want a little bit more. No food stops planned for this.

Sunday will be a little further a field. We haven't got over to Kinnitty at all this year, so we are going to climb up over Glendine and the Wolftrap (Very slowly and steadily) starting at 8am from Tesco with a coffee stop in Kinnitty when we've finish climbing for the day.

Weather looks good really, all things considered. Remember to bring sustenance and a rain jacket just in case and spare tubes/CO2

Forecast for tomorrow looks okay, but there might be a bit of standing water, so we will meet at 9am at the hotel and do a quick survey of conditions. Hoping to do 80-90km weather dependant.

Great to see the black and white still knocking off the big iconic climbs. Great shot of Neil doing the "Challenge des Cinglés du Mont- Ventoux."

To the uninitiated that is the ascent of Mont-Ventoux from each three possible start points Bedoin, Malaucene and Sault.

170km and 4400m of climbing. It took Neil nine and a half hours, so I'm guessing about 12 hours for us mere mortals! 😂😂

*** Change of direction for tonight's start***

I will be heading out from Roscrea, so I am hoping to arrive in Nenagh on time, but If I don't make it in time for 6:30, at least you will be heading out in the right direction. We will head through town to the Dublin Rd, Moneygall, Army Hill, Toomevara, Dolla and then at the Shallee junction turn right for Nenagh.

Rain forecast for the afternoon, but it should clear in time for the evening spin. Temperatures are still going to be high.

Great spin today, Massive crowd at the Portumna Cycle Club food stop today, I hope they did well and raised a bundle for Joe Mullins rehabilitation. 112km and only about 50% of the usual whingeing about rolling over. People must be getting fitter and faster!
