Johnny Culloty Park Officially Opened
A landmark day in the history of Killarney Legion GAA Club was celebrated recently with the official opening and naming of the club grounds as Johnny Culloty Park.
The occasion marked a fitting tribute to one of the clubโs greatest servants, a man who dedicated his life to Killarney Legion and whose contribution to the club and community will never be forgotten.
Hundreds of people attended the special ceremony, which was filled with pride, appreciation and a strong sense of community spirit. The event was organised under the guidance of Denny Murphy and the chairmanship of John Keane, whose efforts helped make the day such a memorable success.
Special guests included Patrick OโSullivan, Chairman of the Kerry County Board; Martin OโGrady, Mayor of Killarney; Fr. Kieran, who performed the blessing of the grounds; and Jarlath Burns, President of the GAA. Their attendance added great significance to the occasion, and the club was honoured that they took time from their busy schedules to be present.
The official naming of the grounds as Johnny Culloty Park ensures that Johnnyโs remarkable legacy will continue to inspire future generations of players, members and supporters.
Killarney Legion GAA Club would like to extend sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the event, from those involved in the planning and preparation to the many volunteers who worked tirelessly on the day itself. The success of the occasion was a testament to the dedication and commitment that exists throughout the club.
