Colga FC Colga F.C. Is a community club run by its members for the benefit of everyone who wishes to participate in football at every age grade from U6 to Junior.

We have over 800 members and were awared the FAI Club Mark 2 Star in October 2025 If you have a kid or if you are a kid who wants to participate in the beautiful game that is soccer then Colga F.C. would like to help. We focus on making soccer fun for those just beginning and providing access to the game for participants from 6 years of age to junior. We produce players who will love the game, no

matter what their level of skill and have a great track record in girls and boys football helping players reach their potential whilst still maintaining a focus on soccer being a game for all to enjoy

As we build up to our celebration of 30 Years of Colga FC in Paddy Burkes on the 18th of September we thought we would share some memories from 1996 to now. The U16 Girls Premier side started their campaign at home to Bearna Na Forbacha Aontaithe who made the trek across the city for a 7PM kick off on Pitch 1. Due to absences and injuries Colga started and finished the game with a squad of just 11 players but everyone but in an immense shift across the game to secure a deserved result. With a strengthening breeze at their back Colga started well with Sarah Walsh leading the line ably supported by Gabbie Mangion, Róisín Sammon and Martha Macadam. Sammon came close to opening the scoring with a fine strike from outside the box which struck the bar but Mangion soon broke the deadlock after dancing past a couple of challenges and slotting home a tidy finish. Sammon added the second when she won the ball on the left wing and cut through the middle to stroke home low from the ege of the box. 2-0 after 15 but the back 4 of Aisling Kinsella, Anna O'Dea, Millie Looby and Robyn Hamilton had to work very hard to keep the vistors at bay with all 4 players getting vital blocks and tackles in the penalty area to protect Lilly O'Boyles goal who was also quick off her line to s***f out danger on a couple of ocassions. Amy Gilmartin & Aisling Egan did trojan work in midfiled supporting both attack and defence and this paid off with a 3rd goal for the excellent Macadam just before the break. With the wind picking up it felt like a vital strike. The visitors piled on the pressure in the 2nd half and O'Boyle made a couple of super saves to preserve the clean sheet. Chances would always present themselves as they continued to push for a way back into the game and Mangion grabbed a smart 2nd for herself when she picked off a pass out from the back and beat the retreating keeper with a well placed shot to the corner. A great start to the season but the scoreline didn't reflect the back and forth nature of the game. Well done to the girls for putting in a massive amount of work over the course of the game.

Not to be for our brilliant bunch of O35 ladies in the cup final last night who went toe-to-toe with Renmore, leaving it all on the pitch, but lost 2-0 to a very good side.
The squad would like to say thanks to their supporters, backroom team, and everyone who has helped them during the season! "We'll be back!!" 💪⚽️
