🏸 Oranmore Badminton Club End-of-Season Fun Night 🏸
What a fantastic way to bring another successful season to a close!
Our end-of-season fun competition took place last night and was enjoyed by all who attended. There were some great games, plenty of laughs, lots of competitive spirit and, most importantly, a wonderful social atmosphere as members came together to celebrate another successful year for the club.

A special congratulations also goes to Martin Flannery, who was presented with our Club Person of the Year Award.
This award is thoroughly deserved. Martin has given countless hours of his time throughout the season to coaching and supporting our Sunday evening beginners group. His dedication, commitment, encouragement and enthusiasm have helped many players develop their skills and confidence, and his contribution to club life has been invaluable. Well done Martin, and thank you for everything you do for the club.
A huge thank you must also go to the organisers of the evening, particularly our Chairperson Deirdre and Secretary Niamh, for the tremendous effort they put into making the night such a success.
Thanks also to everyone who contributed refreshments and food for the evening. Special mention must go to the ongoing friendly rivalry between Freda’s legendary éclairs and Paddy’s famous cheesecake. After another closely fought contest, the judges were unable to separate them and declared it a draw — much to the disappointment of both bakers, who are already believed to be preparing for next season’s dessert championship! 🍰😂
As we reflect on the season, we can be incredibly proud of what has been achieved. Our members have enjoyed success across leagues, competitions, county events and national championships, with many players representing both club and county with distinction. These achievements are a testament to the hard work, commitment and positive spirit that exists throughout Oranmore Badminton Club.
While this officially marks the end of the competitive season, badminton doesn’t stop here! We will continue to enjoy some social and fun badminton throughout the summer months, and we look forward to seeing many familiar faces on court over the coming weeks.
