Our U14 Girls Hurdlers, Eva and Aine, were in action yesterday and both put in fantastic performances!

🥇 Eva Carroll stormed to 1st place, claiming a well-deserved gold medal with an outstanding run.

👏 Aine also performed brilliantly, securing a superb 7th-place finish in a very competitive field.

🔥 RECORD BREAKER! 🔥

A massive congratulations to Harry Melia (U15 Boys) who broke the championship record in the 250m Hurdles today with an outstanding time of 35.52 seconds! 🥇👏

What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Harry has spent the past week representing Galway on the soccer field, yet still produced a record-breaking performance .💥

Harry also completed a fantastic hurdles double, claiming:
🥇 80m Hurdles – 12.38
🥇 250m Hurdles – 35.52 (New Championship Record)

Another super day out for our crew at Day 2 Connacht Outdoor Championships. Congratulations to all our athletes who represented Athenry A.C. with pride and determination. Whether they stood on the podium, achieved a personal best, or simply toed the line and gave their best effort, every performance contributed to a fantastic day for the club.

Not every athlete comes home with a medal, but every athlete who steps onto the track or field gains valuable competition experience. We were delighted to see so many athletes achieving Championships records, personal bests, challenging & pushing themselves and continuing their development.

A huge well done to all our competitors, coaches, officials and parents for their support. The future is bright for Athenry A.C. 🤍 See you all nationals 🤩

Our older athletes U14-U19 will make the trip to ATU Sligo this Saturday to compete in the Connacht Athletics Outdoor Championships across a variety of events.

They have spent weeks training, putting in extra sessions, and working hard under the guidance of their coaches. The hard work is done ✔️💪 now it's time to get to the start line, trust the training, and do what they do best ,run!

We wish all our athletes the very best of luck and hope they enjoy the experience and competition.

Extra practice ahead of Connacht Athletics Day 2 this weekend. Thankfully the rain stayed away, and our older athletes got a great mix of distance, sprints, and hurdles completed. Looking forward to the weekend's competition! 💪🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
