🌿 Let Me Be Outside 🌿
The “Let Me Be Outside” campaign, spearheaded by Roscommon CYPSC, highlights that Outdoor play is essential for healthy childhood development, helping children build confidence, creativity, resilience, friendships, and overall wellbeing.
🌳 Research continues to show that many children are spending less time outdoors than ever before.
🐝 Increased screen time, busy schedules, traffic concerns, and reduced access to safe green spaces are some of the contributing factors to this.
😃 By encouraging more opportunities to play, explore, and connect with nature, we can help create healthier and happier childhoods for all children.
All posters for this campaign have even developed using the words & drawings of children in County Roscommon.

👉Infant Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 — Attunement
This Infant Mental Health Awareness Week (8th–14th June 2026) will focus on the theme of ‘Attunement’. During the week we will highlight how attuned early relationships support babies’ development.

👉Attunement is the ability to tune in and connect with others on an emotional level. It is important for everyone, but particularly for babies and their parents or carers.

👉Emotional attunement involves noticing, understanding and responding to another person’s emotional state in a sensitive and appropriate way. When adults are emotionally attuned to babies and young children they notice cues, validate children’s emotions and appropriately respond to them.

An easy way for parents to tune into their babies and Toddlers is the concept of "Connect when you collect"
