Whitby Junior Rugby make history by showcasing for the first time at the Twickenham (allianz stadium)....
Whitby Rugby U12s recently won a huge fantastic prize and represented Junior Rugby at the Allianz (Twickenham) Stadium on 20th June 2026.
Earlier this year, the team took part in the Defender Cup Tournament at Newcastle Red Bulls. Due to their high standards, excellent commitment, team ethos and dedication, the team won the Defender Rising Stars Tournament Core Values Rugby Award.... These values are Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship - values which are the heart of this inspirational team.
Part of their prize for achieving this once in a lifetime achievement was a trip to Twickenham, to attend the Gallagher Premiership Final on 20th June. Players and Coaches met top rugby players, toured the stadium and took part in a Rising Stars parade at half time - in front of a packed stadium of almost 82,000 people. Parents and families also attended - with a ‘team bus’ travelling from Whitby to London and back. Leo Grason also won the “Most Valued Player” award which was presented by former England International player, Joe Launchbury.
The players absolutely shone at this event - representing Whitby Rugby Club magnificently. We are all extremely proud of them.
The winning team players are Samuel Arnett, Charlie Duffill, Seth Gilpin, Harry Glasby, Leo Grason, Finley Parkin, Alex Poulter, Harry Randell, Rupert Sharp-Roden, Isaac Togwell, James Wilson and Arthur Walton.
What an end to a fantastic season. The coaches could not be prouder of this truly amazing team of players and friends. They have made a truly remarkable achievement and made rugby history at Whitby.
