This just shows the potential of investing in Northern rowing and the great work being done by the North East PDA in South Shields.

We’ve been lucky enough to watch Emma race at Whitby these last few years and to now watch her on top of the world. Incredible 👏

Why is rowing great for juniors? 🚣‍♂️

Rowing is about far more than simply getting fit.

It gives young people the chance to get outdoors, build confidence and make friends.

They learn to work as part of a crew — all while developing strength, endurance, coordination and cardiovascular fitness.

At Whitby Coastal Rowing Club, we offer:

🚣 Dedicated junior-sized oars and equipment
📈 A pathway from complete beginner through to recreational and competitive rowing

No previous rowing experience is needed.

Whether they just want to enjoy being on the water, get fitter, or eventually see how fast they can go, we’ll help them get there.

Juniors can start rowing from age 11, so if your child is interested, drop us a message and come down to our Open Day this Sunday, 4th October at 9:30am! 🚣‍♂️🌊
