Check out an inspiring afternoon with Jasmine Harrison as she shares the story of her extraordinary solo sailing journey.

In her 20s, Jasmine has already achieved what many only dream of, showing what determination, resilience and courage can accomplish. Some of you may remember seeing her colourful yacht, Numbatou, when we crushed up the East Coast a couple of years ago passing through Amble.

At 21, she rowed the Atlantic - alone. She then became the first woman to swim the full length of the British Isles.

Most recently, she completed a remarkable 24,000-mile solo circumnavigation of the globe aboard her 19-foot plywood yacht, Numbatou, in the Mini Globe Race.

Now British Adventurer Jasmine Harrison is coming to Whitby.

Join us for what promises to be a fascinating illustrated talk as Jasmine shares the challenges, triumphs and unforgettable moments from some of the world's toughest endurance adventures.

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone for Whitby Yacht Club, proudly established in 1932, serving sailors, members, families and visitors for 94 years!

For nearly a century, the club has been at the heart of Whitby's maritime community, fostering a passion for sailing, friendship, adventure and life on the water. Through changing times, generations of members have shared unforgettable experiences, created lasting memories and helped preserve Whitby's rich seafaring heritage.

From competitive racing and cruising to social gatherings and community events, Whitby Yacht Club remains a place where tradition meets the spirit of the sea.

Here's to everyone who has been part of the club's remarkable journey—past and present—and to many more years of fair winds, safe seas and great companionship. 🥂
