Derby Day delight for AFC Grove

AFC Grove welcomed local neighbours Stanford in the vale FC in Matchday 9 of the North Berks Football League Division 2 season and the game did not disappoint with another wonderful clash between the to clubs with Grove taking the win 3-2 thanks to 2 goals from Kian Walker and 1 from Stan Parry.

Our focus now turns to next weeks huge game in the war memorial Semi Finals so look out for the match preview.

After the recent bad weather putting a stop to play over the lase few weeks AFC Grove finally Return to action this Saturday when we face Benson Lions FC in the war memorial Cup where a win will see us reach the semi finals for the very first time and take a step closer to being the first adult men's team frome Grove to win this competition in over 100 years.

The game will now be played at cane Lane due to damage to the Benson pitch.

AFC Grove got back to winning ways in this year's war memorial Cup after a excellent display away at Marcham Reserves yesterday winning by 4 goals to 1 thanks to 2 goal from the in form Harrison Williams and a goal each from Josh stock and Jamie Dawson.

WAR MEMORIAL CUP MATCHDAY 2
AFC Grove welcome Berinsfield Reserves to Cane Lane this Saturday looking to Make it 2 wins out of 2 in this year's war memorial Cup kickoff is 2pm.

The game will also see both clubs and the the grove community come together as one to remember those who have gave their lives for our country.

There will be a wreath lay on the pitch and minutes silence before the game So please come out and join us.

AFC Grove traveled over to local neighbours Stanford in the vale FC for the first league derby of the season and it ended in a 1-1 draw.

In form Grove striker Kian Walker scored his 8th league goal of the season to become the leagues current top scorer.

The result sees us stay in second place in the table 5 points behind the leaders as we head into 2 weeks of Cup games.
