Now that the season is over we just want to take a moment to send our thanks.

Thank you to all our members, volunteers, sponsors and supporters. Thank you for all your backing and all your cheer throughout the season. It means so much to us and the lads that pull on the blue and gold. Without you all we just wouldn't be the club we are.

Thank you to all our players and our coaches. It's been a fantastic 2025/26 season. We've experienced the highs and the lows with you and wouldn't have it any other way. You have made us immensely proud once again. We can't wait to see what next season brings!

On a sunny day down at the Meadow, Stourport-on-Severn Rugby Club finished their league season off against promotion chasing Worcester with an attritional game of rugby.

Worcester got off to a fast start, underlying their ambition to seal promotion. Stourport were caught off guard as Worcester used a combination of strength through the middle and pace out wide to score three early tries.

Stourport rallied together like they have throughout the season and adapted to the style of play in front of them. After working some good phase play to push Worcester back up the pitch, Stourport hit back with a couple of tries of their own to put the pressure back on the travelling side.

The Worcester captain saw yellow just before half time under pressure from Stourport's attack, leaving Stourport looking to make the most of the numerical advantage after the break. Unfortunately, Worcester came out strong at the start of the second half intent on scoring first to swing the momentum back in their favour.

Both teams had phases of dominance during a great game for the fans. But it was Worcester's fast start and early scoreboard pressure that allowed them the victory.

Congratulations to Worcester for their promotion, good luck for next season!

Motm as chosen by Worcester was Phill Brooks Maddicks. An absolute thorn in Worcesters side throughout with his top defensive work and dominant tackling. Congratulations Phill!

The club are really proud of the boys after an absolutely brilliant campaign. They gave their absolute all throughout a chaotic season. Well done lads! And we will see you all down Walshes Meadow next season!

Final score: 26 - 45
Try scorers: Reuben Buffong, George Taylor, Joe Andrews, Tom Steggles
Conversions: George Taylor x 3

Stourport will look to end their season on a high on 9th May with some silverware. They will be travelling to Worcester to play Chaddesley in the Shield Plate final. More details to come but please get behind the lads and lend us all the support you can!

Join us at Walshes Meadow for the final league game of the 25/26 season! Come cheer the lads on and show your support for what has been a fantastic campaign.

After the match the guys will also be dressing up in drag in order to raise money for The Wooden Spoon charity. A fantastic organisation that provides much needed funds to local organisations that help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people.

Big win on the road!!

Another solid, all-around display saw Stourport see off local rivals Redditch at Terry's Field.

It was clear in the first quarter that both sides hadn't played a league match for 4 weeks, and this showed as the teams found their feet. With missed opportunities, simple errors, and interventions from the referee, the game took a little while to get going.

When the game kicked into action, there was line breaks a plenty as both sides looked to utilise their backs to get on top. Stourport score some well worked tries and Redditch tried to stay in the fight through some heavy forwards carries.

Stourport came out strong in the second half, putting 41 points past their oponents in a clinical display of attacking intent. The ball was moved around the park well by the Stourport playmakers, picking out runners on hard lines and finding the space to punish the Redditch defence.

A strong, defensive performance kept Redditch limited to one try during the game, even with some impressive carries from the Redditch lads.

After an early season injury, it appears that Luke "snake-hips" Hannerford is back to his elusive best. Cutting open Redditch's defence at will, Luke ran in a hattrick and was awarded Man of the Match for his efforts.

Final score: Redditch 7-62 Stourport

Tries: Luke Hannaford x 3, Dan Smith x 2, George Taylor, Tom Steggles, Emilio Lombardi Vaughan, Dan Vanes, Sam Hadley

Conversions: George Taylor x 6
