🙋‍♂️We’re excited to announce that our Men’s Mixed Ability Rugby team will be returning to training soon as we prepare for the upcoming season!

🙋‍♀️More exciting news is our new Women’s side will launch at the same time 🤞🤞🤞there’s enough interest?

📅 Friday 17th July marks our return, with two weeks of touch rugby to ease everyone back in and get the ball moving again.

💪 Pre-season training officially begins on Friday 31st July, where we’ll start building towards another fantastic season.

📍 Location: Stourport Rugby Club
⏰ Time: 6:45pm – 8:15pm

Whether you’re a returning player or completely new to rugby, we’d love to welcome you along.

❓ Interested in joining us this season?

We’re planning a Q&A session during the week commencing 15th June for anyone who would like to find out more about Mixed Ability Rugby, our teams, and what to expect.

The exact date, time and venue are still to be confirmed and will depend on numbers. If you’re interested in attending, please send us a message to register your interest so we can keep you updated with the details.

Come and be part of an inclusive, supportive and fun rugby community. Everyone is welcome!

What can we say about The Black Star, always there to support us, wether it be for a venue for a committee meeting, emergency players food on match days, venues and food for club socials, cooking utensils and materials, a brand spanking shiny new cooker for the clubhouse, our air fryer and multi cooker, supporting the lads from the touch line (when possible) or the kits they have sponsored and paid for over the last few seasons, this is the latest one of those kits by and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Please like and share this post or even better still head over to The Black Star for a real ale, cider or some banging food (an entire rugby club cannot be wrong when it comes to food and beer).

The very best of luck today ladies….Find your local and go watch some great running rugby.

Usually this a “training tonight” post…..
Training Isn’t just chucking a ball around or work ons from our previous matches or even prep for the next one, it’s a get together, a chance to be your true yourself for an hour or two if that’s what you need, leave your phone in the car, wear something other work clothes, it’s a chance to meet up with like minded people from all different walks of life, a chance to socialise and maybe push yourself a little bit outside of your comfort zone knowing those around you will pick you up if you fall…(and some literally do fall)
So, despite the fact we’re not at the club chucking a ball about, we’re still about if you want to reach out.

Well, that’s season 25/26 over and done with, our second full season as a Mixed Ability team culminating in last nights awards evening.
All of the awards were voted for by the players group so each one was awarded by the people that really count, Teammates💪.
MA players player went to Brandon Marriott .
Most Improved MA player went to Andy Parry.
Moment of the season went to Dean Yarranton’s try saving “tackle” against Worcester at home.
Special mentions from me have to go to the following people.
Dave Howard for his unwavering support with coaching and sharing his knowledge on and off the pitch.
Stuart Duncan and Chris Finney for their leadership on the pitch.
Craig Pollard who ran Bran very close for the players player award.
Sam Perry and also William Griffiths who also collected votes for most improved player but ultimately Andy ran away with that one.
Alistair “Stuffy” Hunter who started playing this game in the 80’s and 90’s, I think I can speak on behalf of all us and say we were all proud to be there for his final game.
And lastly all the volunteers who make it happen from my long suffering wife Sharon Kilner opening the bar on a Friday night after a week at work so we can all have a drink after training, Ash Mills, Phill Brookes-Maddicks, Joe Churchill and alike for keeping the pitches so we can tray and play and also to the lads who helped bolster the numbers when we were short.
It was a great season, we’ll be back soon enough and all being well we’ll be welcoming a women’s side to our ranks, so keep an eye on the page.
Mark
