“It can’t rain all the time.” 🌧️
This Su***de Prevention Month, I want to talk about something more important than sets, reps and PRs.
Some people walk into the gym carrying more than anyone could ever see.
They might look strong.
They might smile.
They might laugh.
They might tell you they’re “fine.”
But sometimes, behind that smile is someone struggling just to make it through the day.
As a personal trainer, my job is to help people become physically stronger. But I’ve learned that strength isn’t always about how much you can lift.
Sometimes strength is getting out of bed when you don’t want to.
Sometimes it’s admitting, “I’m not okay.”
Sometimes it’s reaching out when everything inside you is telling you to withdraw.
And sometimes, strength is simply staying.
If you’re going through a storm right now, please remember:
It can’t rain all the time.
The storm might feel endless.
The darkness might feel overwhelming.
But things can change. There can be better days ahead, even when you can’t see them yet.
So this month, check in on your people.
Not just the ones who look like they’re struggling.
Check on the ones who seem completely fine, too.
Ask twice.
Listen properly.
Don’t judge.
Don’t dismiss.
And don’t be afraid to have the uncomfortable conversation.
You don’t need the perfect words.
You don’t need to fix someone.
Sometimes, knowing that someone genuinely cares can mean more than you’ll ever realise.
Send the message. Make the call. Start the conversation.
And if you’re the person struggling right now, please don’t suffer in silence.
You are more than this moment.
The storm isn’t forever.
It can’t rain all the time. ❤️
