Another day on the road for Team Unity. This time we were at INGLE GYM SHEFFIELD for more learning rounds for the lads. A good mix of new comers as well as national champions, all working hard with the same aim of becoming the best version of themselves.

Here at Unity we have developed a number of packages that are available to Children and Young People for all ages from 6 years +. We have used our knowledge and expertise to ensure these are inclusive adaptable coproduced models that have successfully tangible outcomes.

The coaching team and squad will be at the Rotherham Show this Saturday in this zone (see below)
We also have a ring thanks to England Boxing
And will be using it for showcasing sparring of affiliated boxers, workshops for general public and much more. If you can make it to the Rotherham Show it is an amazing mish mash of everything Rotherham.
Come and say hi to us at Clifton Park.
We will be giving out throughout the day pairs of our custom golden Gloves in 12oz, 14oz and 16oz. So if you want to come and grab a pair and use them in the ring while you are there. They will be on a first come first served basis.
So come and support our club if you can, bring your friends and family or if you are a business come and talk to us about sponsorship opportunities with our core team.

Sparring day at John Fewkes this evening 🥊

First time out of the gym for Kye, Noah and Leland, all three handled the step up like pros and did themselves proud.

Good first spar out this season for Yaseen, Rocco, Bryan and Cody as they’re working towards the Development Championships, plus Rio getting rounds in ahead of his rematch in two weeks, looking to avenge one of just two losses on his record.

Proud of every one of them tonight.

The Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime recently visited Unity Boxing Centre in Rotherham to see first-hand the impact the organisation is having on local communities.

Unity Boxing Centre is much more than a boxing gym. Through boxing, mentoring, wellbeing support and positive role models, the centre helps children, young people and adults build confidence, resilience and the skills they need to achieve their potential. Working closely with schools, SEND settings and young people facing additional challenges, the centre creates positive opportunities and supports people to make positive life choices.

During the visit, the Deputy Mayor heard directly from staff about the difference the centre is making across Rotherham. From improving physical and mental wellbeing to strengthening community connections, Unity Boxing Centre is helping to create safer, stronger and more inclusive communities.

The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit is proud to support this work through funding that helps provide positive opportunities for young people to thrive.

The visit highlighted the important role that community organisations like Unity Boxing Centre play in preventing violence through early intervention, engagement and support.

A huge thank you to everyone at Unity Boxing Centre for sharing their inspiring work and demonstrating the positive impact they are making every day.

The Coaching team had the privilege of welcoming the Deputy Mayor Kilvinder of SYMCA down to the gym today talking all things boxing 🥊

Atif Shafiq talking about the history of Unity and how we started and looking at how far we have come. Its nice to reflect on your journey especially when your normally just living in the day to day.

As we are coming up to 5 years alot has happened in that time. And the club has achieved so much.

Kilvinder was sharing her plans and ambitions for SYMCA and in particular her work on VAWG and DV.
We will be actively involved in some of that with Emma Sharp speaking at the Reclaim the Night event in Rotherham in November.

Our CWO and Ops Manager Emma went and joined the team at the Doncaster Box Cup this weekend putting in 3 days with the lovely ladies from L.A. abc and Yorkshire Boxings own Lesley.
They did an amazing job throughout the weekend and its incredibly important to remember all those behind the scenes that make these events possible and keep everyone safe. Thanks again ladies 🥊❤️

We want to give a huge shoutout to these incredible ladies for all the hard work they put in throughout the Doncaster International Box Cup weekend.

From behind-the-scenes organising to making sure everything ran smoothly across all three days, you worked tirelessly and played a massive part in making the weekend the success it was. 👏

Events like this simply don’t happen without people willing to give their time, effort and energy, and we genuinely can’t thank you enough.

Three long days, plenty of pressure, plenty of laughs and memories made — but you absolutely smashed it! ❤️

Doncaster Box Cup done 2/2🏆🏆

Wael - 3 fights, 3 days, all against good opposition, 3 wins and a Gold medal.
Perfect example of hard work paying off📈

Rio - 2 fights, 2 days. First fight he rematched a lad he’d already beat and put in an even better performance than last time. Final was against Evander Dickinson, European gold medalist, but Rio wasn’t fazed one bit. Boxed to the game plan and got the UD win. Sky’s the limit for this lad, expect big things in 2027.

So proud of both of them. They’ve worked hard all off season and it showed this weekend. Great start to the season.

Next up, cody nasser Bryan Yaseen Salih and Roccorichiehughes in the Development Championships. The new is season is only just started🥊

Every Sunday we run this fully funded class thanks to tnl community fund.
Its a quieter class led by head coach Atif for those who are needing it.
We want to ensure we make boxing as accessible as possible.
We have a quiet/sensory area too in the gym
So if you want to come down please do while the session is still on until February
Mental Health matters to us at Unity
All staff are Mental Health trained

In collaboration with Rotherham Community Safety & Environmental Health team. This scheme is put in place for anyone 11+ that needs a safe space.
We will always be more that just a boxing gym and we are keen to ensure we support our communities in the best way ❤️🥊
