Have you ever thought about getting involved at Old Reigatian Rugby Club?

Our club is built on the support of volunteers, and there are so many ways to help, whatever your experience, skills, or the amount of time you can give.

Whether it's lending a hand in the kit shop, helping to organise events, providing first aid pitch side, liaising with local schools, or supporting behind the scenes, there's a role for everyone.

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, be part of the club community, and make a real difference to the experience of our players and members.

If you'd like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you. To find out more about the opportunities available, please email [email protected].

Together, we can continue to make Old Reigatian Rugby Club a welcoming and thriving place for everyone. 💙🏉

Cracking start back with Comedy evenings with Marcus Brigstocke, Jimmy McGhie, Josh Murphy and Thanyia Moore as compere.
These have always been a fun night out, and once again, with a new comedy avenue, we now have access to even more comedians. There is an early bird special on the tickets, which will then go back up to £20, so get booked in as soon as you can.

A massive thanks to Claire Ranganathan and Rangatainment for being our new comedy incumbants. They have been running massively successful comedy nights at Crawley RFC, Haywards Heath Comedy Club, Capitol Theatre Horsham, to name a few. So, very excited to have them on board.

Old Reigatian Rugby Club are currently in discussions with an exciting young Australian player who is planning to relocate to the UK in August/September and is very keen to play for OR’s. Therefore we are doing all we can to help him obtain work and accommodation.

He is an experienced carpenter, who has worked predominantly in the building industry, so has experience of everything from start to finish on building projects, not just carpentry work. He is looking for employment opportunities in the Surrey / South London area, along with accommodation (room or a flat share).

If anyone in the club community has contacts in the construction industry, knows of any suitable roles, or can assist with accommodation, please do get in touch. We can provide a CV and references as required.

We would greatly appreciate any support from the club network in helping to get him playing at Park Lane and established locally as we look to build our Senior squad for the new season ahead.

Please contact Sam Foreman at [email protected] for further information.

📢 Senior Rugby Leadership Announcement 📢

We are excited to announce our new Senior Head Coach, Clayton Saunders, and the wider Senior Rugby Leadership team for the 2026/27 season.

Originally hailing from Auckland, New Zealand. Clay has played and coached rugby for over 40 years. He joined Hove as a player when he arrived in the UK before going on to coach at Pullborough RFC, Crawley RFC, and East Grinstead RFC, winning several county and RFU championships along the way.

A club correspondent caught up with Clay recently and he had this to say. 💬

“I’m really excited to be given the opportunity to coach at such a prestigious club like Old Reigatian. I can’t wait to meet the players and see all the talent the club has to offer. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into pre-season in July (the boys will be working hard!) and recognising the potential of what’s possible for the upcoming season. If you see me around the club, then do come and say hi, or kia ora as we say in New Zealand, and introduce yourself.”

Joining Clay in the Senior Coaching team is a familiar face in Doug Cooper (Coops), who takes on the role of Head of Rugby Development and Assistant Head Coach. Coops will continue to bring his energy and attention to detail to the senior set-up as well as oversee player progression across the club, working closely with the age group coaches on development pathways.

Rounding out the senior coaching group, we are delighted that Seb Driscoll is on board for another season as Forwards Coach. Having come through the age groups at OR’s, Seb is now a regular fixture in the Quins back row and will bring his set-piece nous and contact area expertise to the group.

Brian Small, 2nd XV coach, has decided to step away from the club and pursue other opportunities. We wish Brian all the best and will have further updates on the coaching team in the coming weeks.

Working alongside the coaches, a couple of familiar faces in Sam Foreman and Harry Smith will be coming in as Club Captains to provide senior leadership across the club and act as the links between players, coaches, and the wider club committee. A big thank you to Rob Forsyth, who is stepping down as Club Captain, for all his time and commitment over the last few years.

Finally, on the playing side, Tom Allen (Tallen) continues in his second season as 1st XV captain and Patrick White (Patch) will captain the Geese in the 2nd XV. Both Tallen and Patch will be working closely with the coaches and Club Captains on plans for the season ahead, creating a positive team culture, and driving high standards across the senior playing group.

A big welcome to Park Lane, Clay, and we look forward to seeing the senior teams back in action in September.

Until further notice, please keep off all pitches except Molehill.

We have essential groundwork and renovation work underway, and any use of the pitches right now will undo that work and delay recovery.

A couple of important reminders:

*Pets must be kept under control. Some areas will have weedkiller applied. Although we use an animal‑friendly formula, we cannot guarantee your dog won’t be affected if they wander into treated areas.
*Please respect the closures so the pitches can be brought back to the standard we all want for next season.

Thank you

3 weeks ago, drainage work began on our three 12-acre pitches.

The project is progressing really well, and we’re on track to finish on schedule.

This will hopefully put an end to the waterlogged pitches we've experienced over the past few years.

A huge thank you once again to United Learning and Dunottar School for making this possible 🏉🚜💚💙
