🚨FULL TIME🚨
We don’t just post our wins at Polegate and unfortunately this weekend was one to forget with both teams suffering defeats.

The first team travelled to Chichester knowing they were in for a tough game against a team in a higher division. The boys set out with a game plan to keep the first half tight and frustrate the hosts. This was implemented almost perfectly, with Polegate creating a few chances of their own including a Jack Callingham free kick which rattled the bar. However a lapse in concentration saw the gate going in at half time 1-0 down. The second half was a different story as Chichester’s fitness, speed and ability shone through as they took advantage of a tiring Polegate squad to fire in 7 more. A valiant effort for large parts of the game but in the end the better team won comfortably.
MOTM: William Gornall: continued to the very end and put in a brilliant performance especially in the first half against some very good forwards.

The second team also fell to a defeat against Burwash. The Gate started slowly, conceding early after a defensive error, but responded with excellent football. Perry Ford equalised with a powerful swerving strike, and Kyle Danies soon headed home from a corner to give Town the lead. However, a late first-half lapse allowed Burwash to score twice before the break.
Polegate started the second half slowly again, conceding two more. From then on, Polegate dominated, launching relentless attacks against a resolute Burwash defense. Ford pulled one back 15 minutes from time with a deflected shot from the edge of the box.
Despite areas to improve, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance.
MOTM- Perry Ford: 2 goals to add to the collection and a commanding midfield performance.
