Shay Dixon & Hunter Alexander got our season kicked off last night up in Aberdeen.

First up kicking the show off , was Hunter v Joey Milne (Byron) .

A confident performance from Hunter winning by unanimous decision. Great work Hunter (Hands of Stone ) 👊🏻

Shay was up against Nikita Voloviks (Byron) .
Shay who was giving way a considerable size deficit was caught in the first round and given a standing count.

But Shay came came out confident in the second and made the necessary adjustments to even the score .
It was another good round in the third for Shay .
But It was the Byron boxer who got his hand raised with the split decision win .
Well done Nikita a great contest .

Regardless of the decision it was a great performance by Shay and the coaches were happy.

Ali’s Story -

I’ve lived in Perth for the past three years, and as I’m now moving away to university, I wanted to give something back to the community.

I wanted to raise money for a local charity that supports people in the Perth community, which is why I chose PKAVS. I’ve also volunteered with them before, so it felt like the right charity to support.

I’ll be running two marathons back-to-back at the North Inch, where I’ve done most of my running and training The furthest I’ve ever run before is 25K, so completing 84.4K will be a huge challenge and my first ultramarathon.

I’ll be starting early on 5th September Saturday morning around 8am, and will complete my 50th parkrun at 9:30am before continuing with the run. Everyone is welcome to come along and join me for a lap or two around the North Inch!

We are back to business this week as we prepare for a busy start to the new season. With a full stable of boxers ready to go and 118 fitness members signed up last season the most of any amateur club in Scotland we look forward to an exciting year of boxing .

We have a strong team itching to get back out there and build on last year’s success as the new season begins.

We are back in full training training this week with all classes back to normal.

It was a split decision loss for Aaron at the Leith Victoria home show today . But absolutely no disgrace for Aaron as he stepped in as a last minute replacement and didn’t hesitate to take the opportunity to get in the ring .
Well done Aaron!

We also had our Michael competing in Glasgow on Boxing Booths home show .
No excuses from Michael he lost by unanimous decision but gave a great account of himself, landed some heavy shots but beaten by the better man on the day .

We didn’t get the results but the lads did well . Onwards n upwards troops 🫡
