TWENTY champions were crowned on the opening weekend of the Boxing Scotland Development A Championships 2026.

Keir Hardie's Declan McGinnis became the first National champion of the 2026-27 season after overcoming Home Grown's Mac McCormick in the Schools 2015 34kg Final.

A further 77 Finals are scheduled to take place on Sunday 1st November, following a packed day of Semi-Finals on Saturday 31st October.

The weigh-in will once again take place from 8-10am, with boxing commencing from 11am each day.

There will be a 0.2kg weight allowance for all boxers in the competition.

Day 1 at the Scottish Novice championships, and Shay Dixon kicked it off with a unanimous win to secure his place in next week’s 2013 44kg final.

Next up tomorrow is Sam Pearce boxing in the 85Kg Elite category.

We also have Troy Knowles boxing in next Saturdays 48kg 2010 junior semi final.

Timings - Doors Open 10:30am, with boxing commencing from 11am each day

Prices - Adult: One Day - £20 | Two Day - £35

Child (Under-16) : One Day - £10 | Two Day - £15

Children aged Five and Under - Free Entry

Please note, two-day tickets must be used in one specific block. Tickets purchased for the first weekend are not transferable to the second weekend dates or vice versa.

BOXING SCOTLAND are delighted to release the Running Orders for the first National Championships of the 2026-27 season.

The Development A Championships will take place at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell across the weekends of Saturday 24th/Sunday 25th October and Saturday 31st October/Sunday 1st November.

In total 485 entries were received from 111 individual clubs for this month’s Development A Championships, meaning that close to 90% of affiliated clubs will be participating in the competition.

For the purposes of understanding the draw, the following boxers will compete in the following rings;

RING A – Elite (1986-2007), Youth 2008 & Youth 2009

RING B – Junior 2010, Junior 2011, Schools 2012, Schools 2013, Schools 2014 & Schools 2015

Please note, the weigh-in for each day of competition will be from 8-10am.

Boxers only need to weigh-in on days that they are scheduled to compete.

There will be a 0.2kg weight allowance for all boxers in the competition.

BOXING SCOTLAND are delighted to release updated Entry Lists for the first National Championships of the 2026-27 season.

In total 485 entries were received from 111 individual clubs for this month's Development A Championships, meaning that close to 90% of affiliated clubs will be participating in the competition.

The novice level competition is set to be held at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell across the weekend’s of 24th/25th October and 31st October/1st November 2026.

The Development A Championships will prove to be a fantastic first step into a competition for many of this season’s entrants as they begin their boxing journey, with more than 300 bouts scheduled to take place.

Amendments for the competition are now closed, however if there are any withdrawals from the competition, please e-mail them to [email protected]

The competition draw is expected to be completed on Tuesday 20th October 2026 and a Final Entry List will be published alongside the draw detailing exactly which boxers were included, as well as A & B categories for weights which have more than 16 entrants.
