Since August, I’ve lost 5kg, but do you know what makes me happiest? It’s not even the number on the scales. It’s how I’m feeling about myself this time around🥰
I’ve been thinner than I am now, but I can honestly say I’m happier with my body now than I’ve ever been.
Normally, when I decide I want to lose weight, I put so much pressure on myself. I focus on the end goal, want results yesterday, and forget to enjoy the process. It becomes something I feel I have to do rather than something I’m doing for myself and my body.
This time, I’ve taken a step back and taken that pressure off. I’m making little changes, getting on with life, enjoying my food and not expecting myself to be perfect every single day.
And honestly, it’s made such a big difference.
I’ve learnt that you don’t need to hate your body to want to make changes, and you don’t need to put your life on hold until you reach a certain number on the scales to feel good about yourself.
You can be a work in progress and still appreciate where you are right now.
There’s no race, no deadline and no need to compare your journey to anyone else’s. Some weeks you’ll make progress, some weeks you wont and that’s okay.
Take the pressure off, find what works for you, and try to enjoy the journey rather than wishing your way through it.
For once, I’m not just focused on where I want to be. I’m actually enjoying where I am, too. And that feels pretty good🫶🏻❤️
