Hello! We would like to give a special Thank You to The Lord Lieutenant of North Northamptonshire and to all who joined us at Fletton Field on 8th May to commemorate VE Day.

A special tree was planted, a Magnolia Brooklynensis Elizabeth, in honour of the ceremony and we are looking forward to seeing it bloom!

Here are some snaps we captured of the day.

Wishing you all many bright blessings,
The FFA Committee

What budding imaginations! It is truly wonderful to see so many children put forward their drawings for Fletton Field… a whopping 269 of them are currently on display at Fletton House for all to view. This is community collaboration at its finest! The drawings selected for the field will be scanned and digitised. Hello! We had a brilliant time last weekend at The FFA alongside cheerful volunteers David, Charles, Liz & Doug, planting 25 fruit trees of various kinds on the community field.

What a delight it was to discover how thriving the top soil of the field is too! Its darkness in colour is a testament to its richness in carbon, and the presence of many wriggling worms and beetle larvae, in particular, are an indicator that the soil is healthy and abundant with life.

We were mindful not to disturb this flourishing ecosystem by digging as little as possible and mulching afterwards.

We believe one of the reasons for such healthy soil is because it has been undisturbed and thus naturally replenished for a long period of time.

Here are some of the pics we captured and we hope the fruit trees settle in their new home nicely and will be enjoyed by the community in the near future!
