People often ask how Yoke Hill began. The truth is, it wasn’t handed to us. There was no big investor, no neat plan. Just me, my husband Steve, and a wild belief that we could create something honest — something healing.
Yoke Hill Leisure & Wellbeing is tucked away between Corby and Oundle, made up of two special spaces: Yoke Hill Leisure, which we lease, and Yoke Hill Wellbeing, which we proudly own. Together, they create something unique — where the outdoor wild meets peaceful, grounded care.
Yoke Hill Leisure sits on a quiet patch of land with four lakes. When we found it, it was raw, wild, and overgrown. But I saw magic in it. So did Steve. What it’s become is more than we ever imagined: a place of peace, freedom, and wild connection.
After running a salon for years, I knew I needed more than four walls. I wanted people to have space — not just for treatments, but for stillness. So, we left the comfort of the familiar, rolled up our sleeves, and started building.
We cleared weeds and brought the land to life one step at a time. Steve handled everything from the groundwork to the glamping lodge build. We worked side by side, often in the rain, with nothing but vision (and a lot of coffee).
There were moments it felt impossible. But we kept going.
Today, Yoke Hill offers wild swimming, paddleboarding, moonlit fire pit evenings, oracle cards, holistic treatments, sound baths, and more. I still work behind the salon chair — because I love connecting with people, hearing their stories, and helping them feel seen.
We’ve met people from all walks of life who’ve come here not just to try something new — but to find something they didn’t even know they were missing.
Water heals. Nature holds us. And this land — once forgotten — is now a space where people return to themselves.
Steve and I are still building. We’ve got a glamping lodge on the way, a café coming soon, and big dreams for memberships that make this more than a visit — they make it a lifestyle.
Yoke Hill Wellbeing — which we own — is a beautiful retreat offering salon services, holistic treatments, and peaceful indoor therapies to complement the outdoor experiences. That space came to life after a long, hard year in 2023 converting an old outbuilding into a fully functioning wellbeing centre. Every inch was built with care, love, and vision — and a huge amount of physical and emotional effort.
And now, we’re not doing it alone. We’ve welcomed two incredible partners into Yoke Hill Leisure — people who share our passion for the land, the water, and the deep value of creating space for wellbeing. Together, we’re growing something rooted, real, and ready for even more.
Yoke Hill isn’t polished. It’s real. And that’s what people connect with.
So if you’re looking for a space that welcomes you exactly as you are — with muddy boots, messy thoughts, or a full heart — this is it.
