🥊 ROOKIES IS BACK TO NORMAL NEXT WEEK! 🥊
Our timetable returns to normal next week, with our Rookies sessions back every Monday & Wednesday at 5pm.
We just want to remind parents and young people what our Rookies sessions are about.
🥊 These are boxing training sessions and they are hard work.
As you’ll see from the video, we expect our Rookies to work hard, listen to the coaches, take part in all aspects of the session and gradually develop the fitness, discipline and skills needed for boxing.
We have a number of young people in these sessions who are keen to progress towards sparring and eventually competitive boxing. For them to develop, they need to be training alongside others with the same attitude and willingness to work.
We completely understand that not every child wants to become a boxer and that’s absolutely fine. However, if a young person is attending mainly as a general PE/fitness activity and doesn’t want to fully take part in the boxing training, it can make it difficult when they are partnered with someone who is working towards competing.
Our coaches will always encourage every child and give them the opportunity to develop. However, if we feel that boxing isn’t the right sport or environment for them, we will have a conversation with parents and, where possible, signpost them towards another local club, sport or activity that may be a better fit.
Our aim isn’t to turn anyone away , it’s to make sure every young person finds an activity they enjoy, while also protecting the training environment for those who genuinely want to progress in boxing.
🥊 RookiesMonday & Wednesday at 5pm
See you all next week — ready to work! 💪
