💙 FOUR MONTHS. TWO NEW SENIOR TEAMS. ONE INCREDIBLE STORY.

Back in May, senior women’s football at Wolviston FC didn’t exist.

Fast forward to September and we’ve got two teams, an FA Cup win in the history books, a first competitive home game on the horizon and a growing pathway for the next generation of girls at Wolvo. 🐺🏆

But how did we get from an idea… to all of this?

We’ve pulled the whole story together — the people, the players, the setbacks, the Whitehaven drama and the journey that has brought Women’s FA Cup football to Metcalfe Park this Sunday.

💙 ANOTHER BIG SUNDAY FOR WOLVO.

While the Ladies make history at Metcalfe Park in the Women’s FA Cup, Wolviston FC United are also set for a landmark moment with their first ever competitive fixture.

After a strong pre-season and a rapid rise up the divisions, United now kick off life in the Durham County Women’s League Division 1 with an away trip to Darlington RA.

A brand-new team. A new challenge. Another chance to write a fresh bit of Wolvo history. 👊

Four months ago, Wolviston FC didn’t have a senior women’s team.

Now we have two… and this Sunday our Ladies will walk out at Metcalfe Park for the first competitive senior women’s match ever played at our home ground — in the Women's FA Cup. 🔥

After that unforgettable 3–2 win away at Whitehaven, the next chapter is here.

After our fantastic success in the Preliminary Round, Wolvo are through to the First Round Qualifying of the Women's FA Cup, where we welcome Wigginton Grasshoppers to Wolviston FC.

🚌💙 TRAVELLED IN STYLE. MEMORIES MADE.

A huge thank you to M&D Travel for the exceptional service getting Wolviston FC Ladies from the Wellington Inn Wolviston to Whitehaven AFC for our historic Women’s FA Cup trip last weekend.

From how simple everything was to book, to the clear pre-travel information and our brilliant driver on the day, the whole experience was first class from start to finish.

The team travelled in comfort, arrived ready for the biggest game in their short history… and after a 3–2 FA Cup win, the journey home turned into a proper celebration. 🎶🎤🍻

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH – HANNAH VERRALL 🏆

What a performance from Hannah Verrall in Sunday's historic 3–2 FA Cup victory away at Whitehaven AFC! 💙🤍

In a game where there were outstanding performances all over the pitch, Hannah was immense at the heart of the defence.

Strong in the challenge, composed on the ball and constantly organising those around her, she played a huge part as we battled through injuries and eventually went down to ten players for the final 20 minutes.

When we needed to dig deep, Hannah was an absolute rock at the back. 💪

A performance worthy of Player of the Match on a day that will forever be part of Wolviston FC Ladies history – our first competitive fixture and our first FA Cup victory! 🏆
