Tuesday 17/6/26 - 7pm from Oxfam, Colne Road

Normal service returns this week with a classic loop, taking us out (and up) to Holme bridge before one of my favourite climbs up to Linshaws. From there, we'll head to Scout D**e and Upper Denby, Lower Cumberworth and back via Kirkburton.

As it's (hopefully) my last Tuesday for a couple of weeks, regardless of what the weather has in store, I'll be at the Sportsman after for a social debrief.

p.s. I mentioned about doing the longest ride route (taking in England's longest climb, Cragg Vale) this week, but weather and circumstances mean you'll be enjoying that one without me next week all being well.

Tonight was the Huddersfield Star Wheelers Annual Women’s Hill Climb on Mount Road, Marsden.

Thankfully the rain stayed away, although the headwind clearly didn’t get the memo!

A huge shout out to every rider who pinned on a number and took on the climb. Hill climbs have a way of revealing exactly what you’re made of, and every single rider showed determination, grit, and plenty of courage out there this evening.

Well done to everyone who took part, volunteered, cheered from the roadside, and helped make it such a great evening.

📣 A Big Thank You from Huddersfield Star Wheelers
To every single person who gives their time and energy to keep our club rolling strong — this one’s for you.
Whether you’re a coach or junior coach delivering our "Go Ride" sessions, helping the next generation discover the joy of cycling.
Whether you’re out on the roads as a ride leader, guiding groups week in, week out, rain or shine.
Whether you’re one of the dedicated souls who organises rides, plans routes, sorts logistics, and makes sure there’s something for everyone.
Whether you’re on the committee, maintaining affiliations, managing the funds, balancing the books, organising events, and quietly handling all the essential behind-the-scenes work that keeps the club running smoothly.
Or whether you’re one of the many fantastic people who step up to marshal and set up at our events — the same committed names who reliably help out time after time.
Thank you.
None of this club happens without you. Every group ride, every training session, every "Go Ride" programme, every event, and every achievement by our members is built on your hard work and generosity. You are the heart and soul of Huddersfield Star Wheelers.
We know it’s not always glamorous — early starts, cold mornings, last-minute changes, or the less visible admin tasks — but please know that your efforts are seen, valued, and make a real difference to so many people’s lives.
So from all of us at Huddersfield Star Wheelers — a massive, heartfelt thank you. We couldn’t do it without you.
Keep shining, Star Wheelers 💛
