This has never been about doing more.

It’s been about the quality of what’s been done and how I can make fitness fit into my life, NOT the other way around.

Because THAT is frustrating, right?

For years, I asked my own coaches to build be programmes with 5 or 6 day training in there…

I thought more was always going to be the secret, that’s what I needed.

I need to live there to get great results…

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Looking at it as face value, more volume can mean better and quicker growth but the training program itself is such a small piece of the jigsaw.

What happened because of that one factor was why I didn’t make progress.

I fatigued quicker, the quality of my sessions weren’t better, I naturally went on autopilot in the gym because I was there so often…

My sessions weren’t full of quality.

So I suffered.

Then the knock on effect from that… Not getting the results I wanted meant more frequent dips in motivation.

More dips in motivation lead to more self soothing of habits that didn’t serve me.

Late nights, drinking and partying and eating the wrong foods more often.

All because I thought more was better.

& that’s why I train 3-4 days in the gym now.

My life, business and family is demanding (and so it should be). They take priority.

It’s the exact same with you right now.

You need something that works FOR you and not AGAINST you.

Only wish we were there longer. Great food, lots of fish, deer, geese and birds spotted.

Lola has an absolute HOOT as well. Never seen her explore so much.

Life is easy when you have a kid that eats absolutely everything. It’s just hard work filling the lad šŸ˜‹

You’re not wrong in that you need less body fat to see your abs.

Of course that’s the case BUT they are just like every other muscle.

You can’t ignore that fact. I’ve been guilty of it in the past and it sucks.

So if you don’t train them like you should, don’t be surprised if you finally hit that target weight but you don’t see what you want to see…

Time will tell.

And it’s exactly this right!?

We tend to stick to programs that are super unrealistic to the life we live as that’s what we believe will get us to where we want to be.

Weak areas need 3 main things šŸ‘‡šŸ»

1) more volume
2) training with intensity
3) consistently progress them

It’s nice to be finding the groove now.

The gym isn’t feeling clunky or struggling to feel motivated anymore.

Running is feeling good whilst building up resistance on my knees carefully each run and week at a time.

And I guess that’s it with health, fitness and your journey right?

You have to keep going, you need to be consistent and you have to do the ugly yards even when you don’t feel your best.

Because the only way we’re going to break plateaus, his new levels or get through injuries is by doing the work we said we would. There’s never a magic fix.

Progress in all areas of life is in the work you’re avoiding.

Not losing body fat right now? What is it you’re avoiding?
Not visually changing? What are you not doing?
Not getting rid of the injury? Are you skipping steps?

It’s never an unknown cause that’s holding you back.

So let’s get to it. Together šŸ‘ŠšŸ»
