**Billinghay Athletic FC v Louth FC U8 Reds**

After an excellent and enjoyable summer of sun, fun and football tournaments, the boys have been eagerly looking forward to the start of the league season. The first match of the campaign saw Louth travel to Billinghay Athletic, fully prepared for a competitive and tough fixture.

The match was set up to be of an extremely high standard and it did not disappoint. Two well organised, determined and passionate teams, competing firmly and fairly throughout.

The boys were keen to replicate the hard work shown in training into match play and Louth looked to play out from the back when the opportunities arose. Some intricate passing was on show, starting from Oscar to Noah who looked to find the darting runs from Ralph and Clayton.

Noah slotted home cooly early on, a fine finish in the bottom corner of the goal. With the match progressing, Bobby continued to run and drive the team forwards, ably supported by the defensive duo Fletcher and Blake.

Louth looked to build upon their superb early play and more fine passing led to Clayton scoring his first goal of the season. Billinghay proved to be excellent opposition, testing Oscar and Louth on several occasions, but the boys stood strong and three more finely executed finishes from Noah saw the game draw to its conclusion.

A huge thank you to HC Services, providing Louth U8’s with this seasons dazzling yellow away kit.

On Monday, In preparation for the start of the boys second season in the Mid Lincs league, a high intensity training session was held with lots of commitment, hard work and desire shown throughout.

Trainer of the week was awarded to Clayton who tackled strongly and worked hard on his passing during match play. Great session Clayton ⚽️🔴⚫️

An excellent training session took place tonight with everyone putting maximum effort in at all points.

The session started with a passing drill aimed at taking a touch and picking a team mate to pass to whilst being pressured and closed down by an opponent. This led to a tackling drill with the players looking to win the ball back at the earliest opportunity.

Further defensive and attacking drills were executed before an intense and competitive match rounded an excellent session off, with the match finishing 10 all there were goals aplenty.

Trainer of the week was awarded to Fletcher who practiced his defending and clearances perfectly. The coaches were extremely impressed with Fletcher’s commitment and desire to win the ball back in the match. Not only did Fletcher defend superbly he found himself on the score sheet with 3 well taken goals! Excellent session Fletcher ⚽️🔴⚫️⚽️

**Louth FC U7 Reds 25/26 season**

Over the weekend we held our presentation evening for the Louth U7 Reds and what an amazing evening was had by all! Family and friends coming together to celebrate a remarkable first season for the boys that culminated in an unbeaten league campaign!

The presentation evening got underway with each player receiving a trophy to commemorate their first season in the Mid Lincs League. The smiles on everyone’s faces was brilliant to see and the evening was already whizzing by in a flash!

After each player received their ovations from the audience it was time to move on to some individual awards.

🏆Player’s player of the season award🏆

At training last week each player was asked to think about who they felt deserved the player’s player award. Lots of thought was put into each vote and this resulted in Luca being awarded the trophy! It was an excellent season for Luca and to receive recognition from his teammates after a wonderful season was fully deserved. Well done Luca ⚽️🔴⚫️

🏆Most improved player of the season award🏆

Each player this season has come on leaps and bounds as the season has progressed. One player however has developed and improved ever so much, putting in solid performances in goal on a weekly basis. The award was given to Oscar who has worked hard on his shot saving, clearances and identifying when to pass short or long. Well done Oscar ⚽️🔴⚫️

🏆Parent’s player of the season award🏆

The parent’s player of the season award couldn’t have been any closer, with the votes split narrowly throughout the squad. This season saw the award given to two players who received an equal number of votes each. The recipients being Ralph and Clayton who have both put in huge amounts of effort during the boys first season. Excellent team work, passing and tackling were displayed by each of the boys and the award was shared between them! Well done Ralph and Clayton ⚽️🔴⚫️

🏆Manager’s player of the season award🏆

The eagerly anticipated manager’s player of the season award was given to Noah. A brilliant season with 54 goals during the campaign helped the team massively. Not only was this a prolific goal scoring season for Noah but his superb dribbling, skills and work rate helped drive the team forwards game in game out. Well done Noah ⚽️🔴⚫️

The final batch of trophies given out to the players were extremely special and were provided by our excellent sponsors HC Services. The individual trophies were given to mark the invincible league campaign that occurred in the 25/26 season 👏👏👏

The coaching team would like to say a huge well done and thank you to every player, parent, friend and family member who have supported the boys on their first league season, making it so very special. Further thanks to our weekly trainers as well, whilst these boys and girls may not play in our matches, the commitment and desire to learn and improve in the training sessions does not go unnoticed. Well done boys and girls ⚽️🔴⚫️

It has been a joy to coach and see the team develop and progress as the season has evolved and we can’t wait to see the team move forwards and into their U8 campaign.
The presentation evening was rounded off with the U8 Reds being provided their new yellow away kit, red training tops and black tracksuits by our superb sponsors HC Services who continue to support the boys each season. A huge thank you to HC Services for making sure the team look the part both on and off the pitch 👏👏😎😎⚽️⚽️

A great session of training was held last week with some fitness and passing drills being focused on.

Big thanks to Rob Wheelwright for bringing everyone ice lolly’s and ice creams! A welcome treat in the glorious sunshine ☀️ ☀️ ☀️.

Trainer of the week was given to Luca. The past few sessions Luca has been brilliant, showing his consistency and has tried hard in each of the drills set by the coaches demonstrating his skills in the end of session match. Not only did the coaches award the trophy to Luca but each of his teammates were keen for him to receive it. Well done Luca an excellent display ⚽️🔴⚫️⚽️

Another great training session was held this week.
During the session, focus was placed on teamwork and identifying when to pass. It was great to see the players picking this up well in the drills and then further practicing in the games of rumble and match.

Some finely taken penalties rounded the session off nicely.

Trainer of the week was given to Oscar. Despite being awarded the trophy only a couple of weeks ago, it goes to show that effort and commitment are rewarded.
Another great display at training by Oscar with some lovely passing in the 2v2 passing drills and various goals in the match. Superb display Oscar, well done again! 🔴⚫️⚽️

**Lincoln United tournament report**

The boys travelled across to Lincoln United for another action packed, enthralling day of tournament football.

Each fixture was set up to be a tough encounter, playing against some of the finest teams in the County.

The boys got off to a flyer in the first match scoring perhaps the quickest goal of the day after roughly 15/20 seconds.

The group phase whizzed by in a flash, two victories, one draw and a narrow loss saw the boys finish 2nd at the end of the group stage.

A tough quarter final was on the agenda and the boys turned up as a team, playing some lovely football, securing victory.

This led to an eagerly anticipated semi final against one of the tournament favourites. The boys ran their socks off, battled relentlessly and put on some free flowing football which led to a well deserved victory.

The final proved to be one step too far on this occasion, with tired legs and fewer opportunities to rotate, fatigue stepped in and the boys suffered only their second loss of the day.

All coaches and parents were super proud of each player. It was a joy to see the smiles on everyone’s faces, fun and laughter were had throughout and some brilliant football was on display. Well done boys 🔴⚫️🔴⚫️
