What better way to finish than defending another low score.

Skipper lost the toss and the lads were sent in to bat, which seemed to be a fantastic decision from the Alford captain when we were reduced to 60/7. L Cotton and Selveraj then steadied the ship with a 58 run partnership which helped us on our way to 132.

We made a fantastic start with the ball reducing the hosts to 5/3. Unfortunately for us numerous drops aided the hosts recover to 110/5.

With the lads needing 5 wickets for 21 runs or less Wood and Appusamy were thrown the ball with figures of 3/7 and 2/2 respectively dismissing Alford for 119.

On a day of drops a shout out has to go to Liam Cotton for two brilliant catches, one deep on the boundary and a snaffle at first slip.

With the season now finished, we would like to thank everyone for their support both on and off the field. The lads love it when they look to the boundary and see multiple people supporting both home and away.

Today we travel to Alford in our last game of the season.

Unfortunately we fell to a narrow defeat at the hands of high flying Southbank CC on Sunday.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl and we managed to get off to a solid start with the opening partnership putting on 44, with Wilkinson knocking 20.

Unfortunately then wickets began to tumble, with Cotton sticking with it and putting on a gritty 24. The score was boosted when young Chantry chipped in with 16 including a big 6 over mid wicket.

The visitors came out of the blocks quick with a 6 off the very first ball but young Chantry struck again claiming the other opener with his very first ball.

The lads took it to the wire, but unfortunately the visitors knocked the winning run with 2 balls to spare.

A mixed day in the field with some missed chances but also some outstanding fielding from Pemberton throughout.

We travel to Alford next Sunday for our last game of the season, looking for 20 points to round off an indifferent season positively.

It was brilliant to see so many brave the brief torrential downpour and support the lads through what looked like it was going to be another low scoring thriller.

After a week off last week we head in to our last home game of the season this Sunday against South Bank CC. Can the lads make it 5 out of 5?

Earlier start this week of 12:30 but the weather still looks pleasant enough to spend one last afternoon down The Rec this year.

Another Sunday, another low scoring thriller down at the rec.

Yesterday we hosted Grimoldby Cricket Club our well known bogey team, with results always seemingly hard to get against them.

Yesterday started no different as the boys limped to 97 all out with Paige contributing nearly half of those with a standout knock of 42. Hughes also chipped in with 16 before being trapped LBW. It has to be said that the bowling attack for the visitors was relentless and gave very, very little away.

After tea the visitors looked to knock of the total, another brilliant opening spell from Stephenson and Roberts saw the early break through after great pressure from Roberts who bowled 4 maidens in a row.

Paige got in on the act with a couple of quick wickets to start swinging the tie in our favour. Still with plenty left to do Selveraj took the ball and bowled exceptionally claiming 3 wickets.

With things getting tight again Roberts was given the ball to finish his last 2 overs and did so with great impact claiming 2 vital wickets which left the visitors requiring 8 with one wicket remaining.

Appusamy was given the ball in a high pressure situation and with 2 runs remaining he clipped the top of off stump to gain an unlikely, but thoroughly deserved victory, taking our winning run to 4 in a row.

Catches were held by Roberts, Applewhite on debut, Paige and Hughes taking a diving effort at first slip.

No game next week, we host South Bank on the 6th and finish away at Alford on the 13th of September.

Tomorrow we host top of the table Grimoldby Cricket Club in our penultimate home fixture of the season.

The lads form has picked up over recent weeks after an indifferent start to the league campaign, we will be looking to make it 4 from 4 tomorrow and gain more valuable points.

Support is always welcomed and appreciated.

The lads headed to the best social club in the world yesterday and to make it even better, came away victorious, making it 3 wins in a row.

Tetford opened the batting with Hughes and Cotton putting on a 55 run partnership before the first wicket fell. The scoring was steady throughout till Paige and Selveraj accelerated the rate before falling for 55 and 30 respectively.

With the lads defending 191 a good start was needed against a dangerous batting line up. Stephenson and Roberts opened the bowling with Roberts claiming 3 wickets on his return. A much better week in the field for the lads this week with catches held by Hughes, Massingberd-Mundy, Cotton, Roberts and a brace by safe hands Kelsey saw the hosts fall for 133 all out.

The lads travel to Blossom Way this weekend looking to make it 3 wins on the bounce.

Another thriller at the Rec.

Tetford come out with a hard fought victory against Grimsby Town Cricket Club 2.0.

The boys got off to a quick start with opener Wilkinson putting on 33 before being bowled. He was well supported by Hughes, who with multiple batting partners went on to fall just 4 short of his half century being trapped LBW on 46.

Whilst the outfield has been maintained expertly by our head groundsman Paige, conditions proved tough for the boys who made the conditions appear even tougher.

Fortunately, after drinks the boys tightened up in the field and managed to keep the visitors below the required run rate. On a day with a few drops and misfield, Massingburd-Mundy took a nice catch behind the stumps and Hughes redeemed himself for a previous drop of a tough chance to take one over his shoulder on the move.

Lovely to see so many spectators down watching.
