🤞🏻Update 🤞🏻

UPDATE:
We now know that the stolen equipment left the village via Yarborough rd at about 01:40.

If anyone along Yarborough Rd has CCTV or Ring doorbells, can you please check footage. Thanks

Last night (between 7:30pm and 7:30am) the football club and cricket club had their grass cutting equipment stolen from a secure lock up at the sports ground. Clearly someone that knows the site as it was the only container (of 6 targeted). The football mower is new and distinctive (see picture). If anyone has any information please message

After the league season had come to a close, the young Wolves team have been keeping busy with lots of training in readiness for the new 7v7 season and also entering a few tournaments to further educate themselves and have fun against good quality opposition.

Firstly, we entered the SCI tournament at Mablethorpe, where teams had travelled from far and wide to enter, we came up against some very experienced and well drilled teams on both days but all the games were played in a great spirit by all teams and it was great to see the smiles on their faces, as the sun was actually shining, whilst some good football was played. The Wolves management however did question one or two penalty decisions which threw out any chance of the fair play award!!!!

The team were followed by a good band of support including one of our sponsors G.Fawcett Property maintenance , who very kindly donated some chairs for the players to be able to use during match days and will hopefully keep them in order for at least a couple of minutes…….we are all very thankful for their continued support and have already agreed to continue the relationship into the new season. So please contact them for any home improvement needs.

Up next was the Grimsby Borough U8 summer tournament, with a couple of players missing it gave chance to a smaller team of players for plenty of game time, again they dug in and played some good football whilst always battling and working hard for each other. We managed to reach one of the semi finals but were undone in the end.

Straight after the tournament was the Louth Town Junior Presentation day, to which awards were given out to all the team for their efforts this year. The Individual awards went to:

Players Player – Wyatt Jackson
Parents Player – Nicky Pearson
Managers Player – Harry Grasham

All of these awards could have gone to any member of the team and they will all be looking to kick on when the new season starts when we ‘embrace the chaos’ which is fast becoming the mantra for this Wolves team!

On a sunny afternoon at Humberston Academy, the Wolves took on Clee Town Ladies on the 3G pitch which is primed to deliver good football and that is certainly what the ladies tried to do, as they played some very nice passing football.

Before the start, the Wolves were asked to work hard for each other although it took them sometime to grow into the game, when they finally got going they started to control the game for periods but no real chances were created by either side with the defences on top.

The game was drifting towards a draw after a period where Clee were on top but some good saves by Ronnie kept us in the game, when Jos won the ball passed to Liam who took a couple of touches to draw the defenders in and then slipped a good ball to Wyatt who finished into the corner of the goal, to send the travelling fan base wild!

Man of the match was a very difficult decision as Eli ran himself into the ground, Nicky was his usual busy self but it was given to Harry G who, despite only having about 5 hours sleep after getting home from some overseas training, showed some solid defending and composure on the ball.

Thanks, as always to our sponsors G.Fawcett Property maintenance and KWMF

Louth Town Wolves v Clee Town Ladies Tillets

The Wolves finally managed to get a league game played on home soil for only the second time this season but we were missing some players, due to lack of commitment from their parents (Who goes on holiday in football season!!!). 😂😂🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

We came up against our friends from Clee Town Ladies, who really have grown into a very well drilled and organised side. Who as always play the game in the right spirit and they are credit to their club and Manager.

We had another debut to celebrate, after what has seemed an age since we had signed him on, with Ronnie returning to the Louth Town fold.

After a very tight two first quarters in which no one took control of the game but with some great defending by both teams on show, Clee finally broke the deadlock and scored two well taken goals. Nicky P reduced the deficit with a great finish across the keeper.

With Louth chasing the game they were caught on the counter with another two quick goals. Ronnie smashed one in to the top corner to give the Wolves a bit of hope but time ultimately ran out. Some good football was played by both teams but Clee ran out deserved winners. Harry N showed once again that he is improving game by game and will be ready for some serious minutes next season when we go to 7-a-side. Jos as usual was a rock at the back giving his all and helping Max through the game whilst he is learning the defensive side of things. Liam keeps working hard without getting his full rewards, but that will come in time.

One thing that really stood out was that the team didn’t stop working for each other, which is a great sign. Man of the Match was given to Jos for his, sometimes over enthusiastic tackling and trying to marshall the backline when his usual partners weren’t there.

The boys played with a smile on their faces which is always the point we aim for and great to see most hang around at the end for a bit of team bonding.

On a blustery but sunny morning down at the Welton Group Stadium, the Wolves were faced with a very strong Discoveries team, who had kindly agreed to come down for a friendly to give valuable game time for our young side.

From the first minute it was one way traffic as the organised opposition gave the Wolves a bit of a run about, Nicky was however standing firm in goal saving numerous attempts that were fired at him and what also was on show was that his kicking from his hands had clearly improved immeasurably. This game was about developing as a squad and trying to implement our style of football where possible.

This was shown by the play of Harry G, Jos, Wyatt and newbie Archie at some points with some composed passing around the backline. Harry N ran his socks off in what was his first start in football, which will stand him in good stead moving forward. Liam, as always was tenacious but the questioning of the decisions by the referee (me!) every chance he had will have to be worked out of him, especially at one situation where he said it was a corner and then proceeded to show me where it went out for a throw in, so it was still a throw!!!!! Max showed vast improvement and is really getting up to speed with what we expect of him game by game.

Ultimately, we were outplayed for the majority of the game, but the lads stuck to it. Massive thanks to the Discoveries management team and supporters, who made the game as fair as possible and by the end were willing on the Wolves to score.

There was only every going to be one person in contention for Man of the Match after the game, he spent the first two quarters keeping everything out of the net and the next two trying his hardest to put the ball into their net. His attitude, commitment and willingness are exemplary and above all else is liked by all his team mates. Man of the Match went to Nicky P, which has been a long time coming.

Another first happened today for the young Wolves team, as they played in their first ever tournament. Expectations were mixed within the team as they were heading into the unknown.

We were put into a group with some strong teams who all displayed great sportsmanship and played the game in the right way. We managed to win 2 of our 4 games, with some good individual performances by each member of the team during different games, one win in particular was quite spectacular with time running out, Nicky had the ball in his hands for a goal kick and launched a rocket kick forward it cleared everyone on the pitch and bounced over the unfortunate opposition goalkeeper, which turned out to be the final kick of the game.

We finished 3rd in the group which is an amazing achievement for the team, who as we know have only played football as a team since January, so we qualified for the quarter finals. After dominating much of the game the opposition managed to score on the counter attack which lead to the Wolves going more attacking which left space at the back and on the final whistle they scored a second goal to send the young Wolves home.

Wyatt and Eli as always ran none stop, Nicky made some incredible saves(not to mention his goal!!), Liam worked hard but with minimal rewards, Jos was as usual strong in the tackle and credit to Harry N who was drafted in to the squad today and gave his all.

Lots to learn from and progression made but the boys had a great day and were still smiling at the end and can be proud of their achievement today.

The Wolves once again were on the road, playing against a strong and physical Clee Town Meggies team. This game was moved due to our ground being unplayable with the amount of rain that had fallen, so thanks goes to Clee Town for facilitating this.

The game started quickly and was fairly even, with both sets of players giving it everything they had. There was some strong, but fair tackles by both sides, and the game was played in a good spirit. Although there was some questionable refereeing decisions at times from our own referee!!! 😉 Both keepers made some good saves at times during the game but overall they weren’t largely needed as the game was played in the middle of the pitch. The Wolves had to deal with some pressure in the final quarter, which they will learn a great deal from.

One thing the players will take from the game is that they are learning where their own positions are now and how best to carry these roles out. Wyatt was given player of the match after he typified the previous point, about knowing their role, during the game with non-stop running, good dribbling, control of the ball and smashed his penalty home after he had been fouled.

Thanks again to our friends at Clee Town Meggies, as always our sponsors G.Fawcett Property maintenance and KWMF
