Gainsborough Trinity Tournament 2026 ⚫️🔴⚽️

After reaching the final of this tournament last summer, the boys were keen to return and once again test themselves against some of the best teams from around the county.

We arrived with just nine players available, with Ted Fawzi from our Green team kindly coming along to help the boys out — a huge thank you to Ted! 👏

The boys started brightly, winning their opening game and going on to finish joint top of their group, earning their place in the Champions League competition.

That set up a quarter-final against fellow group winners Woodhouse Colts, and once again the Louth boys came out on top to book their place in the semi-final.

Waiting for us there was a side who had won every one of their group games convincingly and, incredibly, had yet to face a single shot on their goal all day! The boys weren’t fazed by the obvious quality of their opponents and produced an excellent performance, dominating large parts of the game and giving them by far their toughest test of the tournament.

After 20 minutes, the score remained locked at 0–0 and a place in the final would be decided by penalties. Unfortunately, this time it wasn’t to be for us.

Congratulations to Woodhouse Colts, who went on to win the tournament, and a big thank you to their manager for his kind words afterwards, telling us that we were by far the biggest test they’d faced all day. A fantastic compliment to the boys and their performance. 👏

That brings our summer tournament season to an end — and what a positive one it’s been! Across the tournaments we’ve entered, we’ve reached at least the semi-final every time, made a final and, of course, lifted a trophy as Tournament Winners just a few weeks ago. 🏆

Huge credit must go to the boys, particularly today when we were really down to the bare bones. They kept playing our football, competed brilliantly and once again showed just how far this group has come.

Attention now turns towards the start of the league season next month. We’ve already produced some very impressive performances in pre-season, mostly against teams from higher divisions, and with everyone available for selection, it genuinely feels like we’ve never been stronger.

Lots to look forward to. Exciting times ahead! 🔴⚫️

🏆 **TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS!** 🏆

After the heartbreak of last week's penalty shootout defeat in the Boston Colts Tournament Final, the team travelled to Retford determined to put things right against several teams we'd never faced before.

After a late night celebrating England's victory, the boys made their usual slow start. Once they got going though, there was no stopping them. They played some fantastic football throughout the day, finishing top of the group to book their place in the Super League Final against Caister Crusaders.

The final was everything you'd expect. We played some brilliant football, dominated large spells and created the better chances, but both goalkeepers were in inspired form. Then, with just two minutes remaining, the moment arrived. Freddie whipped in a superb corner, Jake's powerful back-post header was somehow kept out, but Jack was first to react, chesting home the rebound to spark incredible celebrations and fire us to the tournament win! 🏆

It was a goal--and a tournament win--that the boys thoroughly deserved.

The conditions were tough, but this team just keeps finding a way. Their resilience, togetherness and determination were outstanding all day. They never stopped believing, trusted each other and fully deserved to lift the trophy.

I'm so proud of every single one of them. The progress this group continues to make is incredible, and days like today are the reward for all the hard work they put in week after week.

Louth FC wouldn’t be what it is without the incredible people who give their time, energy and passion to our club.

To every coach, manager, committee member, parent, fundraiser, pitch marker, tea maker, kit washer, event helper and volunteer behind the scenes… you are the heartbeat of this football club.

Your dedication creates opportunities for hundreds of children and adults to enjoy the game, make lifelong memories and be part of something special. The countless hours you give often go unseen, but they are never unappreciated.

Because of you, our players have somewhere to learn, grow and thrive. Because of you, our club continues to move forward.
