KING OF THE NORTH:
A BATTLE UNTIL THE FINAL BELL 🔔

Today, our big man Angus Alexander went straight into a FINAL at King of the North Box Cup 2026 against his opponent Izzy from GBA. We knew today would be a good challenge and a significant step up in level. To say we’re disappointed with the result would be an understatement, with Angus taking silver and narrowly missing out on a 3–2 split decision.

It was a hard-fought contest from start to finish. Angus listened to every instruction from the corner and gave absolutely everything. He used his jab brilliantly, picked his shots intelligently, showed a strong guard and controlled much of the bout while boxing effectively off the back foot.

From a Coach’s perspective, I felt he had done enough to get the win, but that’s boxing. Sometimes what we see from the corner isn’t what the judges see. It’s a tough lesson, but one that will only make him better.

As a Club, we’ll stay humble in defeat, learn from the experience and get straight back to work in the gym tomorrow.

Credit to IZZY, who was a good sportsman after the bout and spoke highly of Angus. We wish him all the best moving forward.

GUTS, GROWTH AND A GREAT EFFORT
IN GLENROTHES 👊🏻

First up today was Logan Matheson. After a loss last weekend, Logan showed real character by getting straight back into the ring today. Against a tough boxer in Ray Douglas from the Home Club, Logan stayed calm under pressure, listened to his corner and boxed smartly to secure his first win with a second-round stoppage 💥 impressive performance Logan.

Jack Fleming was up next, making his return after a long spell out of the ring. Jack started well and had success in the opening round against a determined home boxer in Logan Ness but for the safety of the boxer we made the decision to withdraw him before the second round started. However, we’ve got no doubt Jack’s time to shine will come soon.

Win or lose, every time our boxers step into the ring it’s a chance to learn, improve and move forward. Proud of both lads today.
